Well priced, clean, comfortable and great location
I was very impressed with City Apart hotels having seen previous mixed reviews. But if you are looking for a well priced, clean, comfortable and well located, budget hotel then you really cant go wrong.
It is 10 minutes walk from the main HBF (train station) 4 minutes walk in either direction from two well linked underground tram stops, 7 minute walk from the main shopping and bar district and is located in Little Tokyo so lots of great Sushi places to choose from.
The staff are friendly, the breakfast is good and the basic rooms are cleaned to a very high standard.
Personally I dont think you can go wrong on a budget with this hotel.

Affordable, good location, within a walking distance to the center of the city, also good breakfast included in the price.

Great value close to the center
We were pleasantly surprised by the hotel, it's not the most expensive in the city so didn't expect much - we were just after somewhere to sleep. The room was clean, good breakfast and service at reception. It was also quiet, there's a tram line a few streets away but only heard it maybe twice, it wasn't any loader than normal traffic. Would stay there again, it's maybe 10-15 minutes from the Altstadt, less to the shopping area and train station.

It was okay
The young woman at the front desk was polite and helpful. My room was large and very clean. The television worked at first but then the image would melt. There were some other hotel visitors making a lot of noise and I could hear them in the night, but that's not the fault of the hotel. Overall, it was a good experience but if I were to stay longer I would have asked for another room with a better television.

Cheap but poor and lousy service/quality
Rude non local staff. Beds are low quality. Ok it is cheaper but service is shocking. Car park they recommend is only for small cars.

Good location, everything else poor
Wifi didn't work, no lift, no help with luggage to 4th floor, poor breakfast with very bad hygiene, everything left open to elements, rooms smelt of smoke, shower didn't work, 4 beds in room for one person, door didn't lock properly and was very difficult to open, staff not helpful at all.

Worse hotel ever!
Left after 1 night. Either bedbugs or fleas. I treated my clothes as infected with bedbugs and through out my luggage upon returning home.
I left after one night.

Basic but adequate
This is quite basic but a good central location and probably adequate for the price. Clean enough and the breakfast was pretty good considering it was included in the price. The only real negative was the Wifi was non-existent in the bedroom and we had to sit next to reception to get a decent signal.

clean, comfortable yet unnerving
Although otherwise comfortable and clean, my key card did not allow me to open the front door of the building, and there was no 24 hr reception. As a result, I was confined to my room after 11 pm or so. I nearly stepped out without regard for this fact and so would have been locked out without means of finding lodging. Several broken windows did not inspire confidence.

Great location
The hotel was located in a great place. Lots of Asian restaurants around to choose from. The room was unexpectedly big! It was a room for two people, and the reservation said there would be one double bed. When we arrived there the room had not only one double bed, but also one more single bed, plus a small kitchen. Overall it was all very clean and the breakfast buffet was pretty decent.

fine for a short stay
Was upgraded to a larger room at no additional cost, apparently the room I reserved was still occupied by the previous guest. The larger room's carpet was dark and a little bit worn and thin, but the room itself was functional and fine for my one-night stay. Wifi is a bit slow. A nice coffee shop is right next door.

Good budget hotel, close to Dusseldorf city centre
We decided to stay at the City Apart Hotel as we wanted to be in a central location but didn't want to pay over the odds for it. The hotel is indeed basic but it was close to the city centre and clean. In short, we got what we paid for and would recommend it to a small group of guys looking to spend a couple of nights in Dusseldorf. A couple might want to stay somewhere else as it is rather basic

it was ok
very clean and tidy but beds weren't comfortable and too hot. I have booked and paid through Expedia in advance but they tried to take a further payment. I had my email as well as print out so had point to words Prepaid - would have helped if I could have spoken more that 2 words of German. It was sorted so end result fine.

Warm, clean and near Xmas Markets
The Triple Room we had booked as a getaway for our visit to Dusseldorfs Xmas Markets was warm, clean and very comfortable. The breakfast each morning was ample and ranged from cheese/meats/yogurts/tea/coffee to scrambled eggs and sausages, cereals, toast, no complaints. the accommodation was close to the airport, railstation and shops including the Old Part of the town

Great Location w/ basic comforts
This was the cheapest hotel I could find in the city. It was in a great location (5 min walk from main train station and 10 min walk from the old city) and the rooms were clean and had the essentials. Breakfast was pretty decent and had free wi-fi. Great place if you are on a budget.

Great for Groups/Single Travellers
Overall I would recommend this hotel for groups and younger travellers. It's a 10 minute walk from Aldtstadt (a great place for clubs and bars - if you're going to Dusseldorf you must go there!) and a 10 minute walk from the main station, so quite centrally located.
We stayed in the hotel as a group of 8 people and had booked 2 x quadruple rooms. Although the room rate was specified as single beds, we were a bed short in our room which meant that someone had to sleep on the floor. That said, the hotel is in a good location and was clean, comfortable and served a good breakfast (although the breakfast room was so busy on one day that we had to take turns to sit at the same table). It's excellent value for the price.
This isn't a hotel for a romantic break but if I were travelling to Dusseldorf again with friends I would stay here again and that should tell you all you need to know.

if you like second hand smoke, this is for you..
there is no elevator in this hotel. all rooms are designated as non-smoking but the rooms and the halls even all the bedding/furniture reeked of cigarette smoke. the day attendant wasnt very helpful or friendly, she couldnt really speak a lick of english. the night attendant was much nicer. he helped us print documents and even gave directions to a great restaurant.

Helaas een zware tegenvaller. Niet hygiënisch.
Voorzieningen deden het simpelweg niet. Kamer is in vervallen staat.
