Lovely staff. Very good location for Southampton port. Evening meal was good. Menu selection small, Small portions but tasty. A little bit on the pricey side.

Old World Elegance with New World Spa!
Yes, this is a vintage hotel with older furnishings, not New Age basic, but it is comfortable, clean, and elegant. Also, this hotel has the most wonderful staff that I have been privileged to be served by in a very long time. Thank you for my lovely stay!

Lovely stay
Great stay. Initially we had a dirty bath upon arrival however after staff trying to clean it theg couldnt get the marks off. They offered us a free upgrade. Wenloved thebroo. And servoxe. The food was good to. We had a carvery and a breakfast. The hotplate was quite small but the hotel did not seem that busy at the time.
There was an initial wait as we arrived at checkin time 1500 and others had to wait as well for rooms to be finihsed cleaning. No one checked in till 1600. This mildly inconvenient as we went to have our carvery. I put this down to being a bank holiday weekend on a sunday and not having staff in.

Relaxing break with work thrown in.
Impressed with the young man on reception in the evening, couldn’t do enough for you. The young girls in the bar area were friendly and accommodating too.

Excellent Family Stay
Me and my two daughter's had a really nice stay. We booked a room only, was upgraded on check in to a superior room. The receptionist was very lovely and gave me all of the hotel info.
The room was large, clean and the bed was queen size and very comfortable. The TV had netflixs so the kids were happy. Happy children, happy life! The grounds and views lovely. Wish we had more time to walk around.
Even after checking out we could use the swimming pool and spa. I forgot my daughter's swimming which was essential for her to swim. The spa's receptionist Serenity went over and beyond with trying to help. She tried looking for a spare hat in the lost property without any success. Then she checked the laundry room and found us acouple of shower caps. Towels were provided for us too. Thank you so much Serenity for your efforts this made our stay just the best and made our stay extra special for both me and the girls.
The only disappointing factor for me was the price of the breakfast. A bit too pricey for me so we had mcdonald's which was 5 mins down the road in the car. The hotel is in need of a refresh and tired in some parts but the staff make up for this.
We would stay here again!

Very nice stay
Hotel was lovely, the staff were all very friendly and attentative. Pool and spa was very nice and not too crowded. Grounds were pretty and the Hotel itself is an interesting old building with lots of history.
Breakfast was huge and of good quality.

2 night stay
2 night stay to visit family nearby. Travelling with our pet dog as the hotel advertises as pet friendly however later advised that an additional £50 would be required for the dog. Check in staff were friendly and effecient however when I asked about the additional £50 charge payable up front I was advised that was to cover the cost of any potential damage and cleaning etc which I found strange as a tornado would have had a hard time causing £50 damage to our room which was extremely tired, dated and run down. The £50 should have been a security deposit rather than an up front charge in my opinion. Bathroom was especially grubby and disappointing. Great location, staff seem decent and hate to leave bad review especially for what appears to be a struggling business but would not recommend or use again mainly due to it being so run down and dated.
