The hotel was great. I wasn’t expecting the level of detail given it was part of a pub. It really did feel like they had thought of everything. Earplugs next to the bed, oat milk pods on the tea stand. The radio was playing quietly when we arrived with a small plate of snacks and a hand written welcome note from the staff. Unfortunately we didn’t get to eat in the hotel but the menu looked great. We have already recommended the hotel to people we met who visit Newbury annually. Thanks for a great stay.

Our room was spacious and well appointed. There was a Illy coffee machine in the room, and all the sugar, milk etc was plentiful and well presented. TV was good. Bathroom was lovely. Check in staff were very good. The only down side we have was at breakfast. The menu choice and food served was very good, but the staff were not attentive. We were not asked how our food was, if we needed sauces etc (and we did), or if we wanted more coffee (and we did). We couldn't find someone to ask for these, and when we eaten and decided just to go, we had to request that we could pay. Maybe no management on the breakfast shift?
