A promising new top wellness hotel in Malta
A beautiful brand new hotel just outside the Mdina area - 10 min walk. Lovely rooms, facilities and kind and efficient staff. Literally only opened 2 weeks ago so not all facilities completely up and running yet in the wellness anrea and with its group classes but won’t be far behind. A great base to explore Malta.

This is a stunning new wellness hotel with one of the best wellness spas I have been to.
It is newly built and beautifully designed. It is in the hills with views over the fields and major town in the distance.
The rooms are very spacious and well equipped. The bed is a bit too hard for me. And the shower is over a small bath, but I quite like baths and am small, but maybe not for a large male!
The food at the restaurant is delicious and the breakfast offers lots of choices and is very well done.
The best part for me is the staff who are just lovely, can't do enough for you and make you feel so welcome. As a solo traveller I felt like a special guest not just one in a crowd of nameless faces.
It is a very relaxing place where you can recharge. I would recommend it to those looking for a more relaxing peaceful holiday in Malta

The atmosphere at the hotel is calm and truly delightful. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted by a fresh, spa-like scent that fills both the lobby and the hallways. The spa area is modern and innovative, with a beautiful Nordic-inspired design that creates a sense of luxury and tranquility. The facilities include unique showers with different functions – such as a tropical rain shower with soothing bird sounds – which makes the experience both fun and deeply relaxing.
My husband and I celebrated our honeymoon here, and we couldn’t have chosen a better place. It was exactly the kind of relaxation we needed after a big wedding celebration. As a wonderful surprise, we were upgraded to a larger room and received a delicious dessert from the hotel as a wedding gift – such a thoughtful gesture.
The staff are friendly, welcoming, and always helpful. Eren, the concierge, was especially attentive and supportive throughout our stay.
The food at Griffen is absolutely fantastic – both delicious and healthy – and perfectly complements the wellness experience. Every detail at this hotel is carefully thought out, creating a truly holistic stay that nurtures both body and mind.
All in all, this is the best spa hotel I have ever stayed at, and we look forward to revisiting this amazing place for another getaway and a reborn sense of energy.

Superb hotel - can’t wait to return!
I booked this hotel for my birthday without realising it had only just opened a few days before our arrival. From the moment we checked in, the front desk staff were warm and welcoming, and I was delighted to be surprised with a complimentary room upgrade for my birthday — a thoughtful touch I really appreciated. The rooms were incredible — spacious, beautifully designed, and among the best I’ve ever stayed in, certainly the finest I’ve seen in Malta. The facilities were equally impressive, with a modern spa and stunning pools that I’d highly recommend. Every member of staff we encountered was friendly, professional, and went out of their way to make our stay special. On my birthday, I was even surprised with a small cake at breakfast, which made the day feel extra memorable. We dined in the hotel’s restaurant on several evenings and both the food and service were excellent. The steak in particular was a highlight, and the dessert trolley always offered tempting choices. The location is another plus — peaceful and just a 10-minute walk from the historic city of Mdina, which is perfect for a day out. As the hotel had only just opened, there were still some finishing touches ongoing, and the outdoor bar wasn’t ready yet, but this didn’t detract from our stay. The only negatives were that prices felt a little high, parking at €8 per day was expensive, and the hot breakfast options were limited (though some items could be ordered). Overall, a beautiful new hotel. Highly recommend
