Everything was perfect. The only negative point was the size of the room. I've never seen a room so small. But it was clean, had all you needed and more. Location is perfect. I'll be back for sure. Staff was very helpful with keeping our luggage for a early arrival. The neighborhood is charming and safe.

I was happy to find a hotel on Brooklyn, in a more-than-decent area, for close to $100 per night. When I checked in, I soon found out why. The rooms are tiny. There is little room to move around. Just a bed and a few feet on the 3 sides around it. Bathroom was not large either. However, I reminded myself of the savings that I enjoyed. And I reminded myself that, being alone, all i wanted was somewhere safe to sleep and keep my stuff. Essence hotel did provide that. They also had 24/7 free coffee. You can walk to dozens of shops for food, etc. Also, this is a real neighborhood. I saw people going to work. It was summer, I saw kids going to camp! Fascinating! If you are alone, it is worth it!

The stay is amazing for the money. I just have one hang up. I booked this place because it advertised breakfast, you normally think of a buffet or something grab and go. It's a paper bag of food that comes with no utensils or a way to heat up the egg and cheese biscuit. If breakfast is not important to you then this is an amazing place to stay.

Staff was fine and was attentive to my inquiries. However, I found multiple different kinds of bugs in my bed (not bed bugs to my knowledge) but multiple different species. my toilet clogged upon arrival - from just pee (sorry for the tmi). I did not stay for more than an hour or so as I did not feel safe sleeping in the bed after finding so many bugs. I do not want to post a public review but I do want some form of refund as I had to book a different hotel for the night.
