Anyone Home
Couldn't find the office to book in and no one in the complex at all. Address was right, but the lights were out. Stayed at another location that cost more than plan that night. Had a looked at this place in the daylight while moving on. It was the same in the daylight as it was at night and looked closed. Have photos, but no time to post them.

So perfect! The rooms are cozy and the new beds are heaven to sleep on. I loved all of the history! We were given great information for activities and food in the surrounding area. Mix it all together with beautiful weather and I really didn’t want to leave! The table area was our only challenge as it’s really tight to get in and out of as a grown adult but it wouldn’t be a deterrent since there is a beautiful pavilion that you can eat at outside.

Great Historic Motel on the Morher Road
The night we were supposed to check in we were running late which meant we wouldn’t get there until after office hours. I called the motel and talked to Rich who was very accommodating. When we arrived at 11:30pm he was there and got us checked in. He was a great host. Made us feel like we were actual guests at someone’s home. The motel was really cute. It was like stepping back in time. I studied hotel/restaurant management so it was really fun staying in the first motel built on Route 66 in Williams and knowing the history of motels. Since it’s also a historic building it’s being kept as authentic as it can be. The beds were really comfy too. Better then some hotels I’ve stayed at. The room was really clean and it was nice having a fridge and microwave I would highly recommend staying here if you want to have a Route 66 experience. Additionally, if you book a motel, especially a historic motel, do not expect to have the luxuries of a hotel like an ice machine or room service. That’s what keeps motels like this quant.

Grand Motel
The day we got there for check in nobody was there. I had to call the motel and then he shows up late. During the check in process he spoke very harshly to an elderly couple who decided not to stay there. We decided to check in to the hotel next door as well, which was great. My wife called to cancel the reservation through Expedia and the representative got a hold of him and he was rude to her as well, before he hung up on her he stated we would still be charged. She attempted a second phone call and the same thing. So sad that hospitality and manners are not on this motels list. Please, please do not stay at this place. We travel to Williams AZ frequently and have never experienced anything like this. And to be fair because we didn't stay there I can't say anything about room cleanliness and room comfort on the survey that's why it's marked ok.

Okay place for one night stay
This hotel has been around since 1936 and the rooms are tiny. It’s a room better suited for a one nighter and we stayed three. The tiny bathroom didn’t have any electrical outlet, requiring a lot of creativity for styling your hair. Luckily I carry a power strip with me as the outlets in the room aren’t easy to reach. Other than the bed the only other furniture was a small table that held the lamp. The owner of the hotel offered many helpful tips for places to visit and eat in the area.

Find somewhere else to stay.
one of the light fixtures broke while we were there, the heater didn't work all that great and it took more than 3 hours for the room to warm up...but without the blankets we brought for our road trip, we would have froze! Place is small, falling apart and not very nice at all. Sign said new beds...but there is no way our beds were new...they were so uncomfortable. The towels were not white - barely even an off white - almost looked dirty. Parking is poor, rooms are small and ours smelled of must/dirt. The owner did say they were remodeling...at the same time telling us we were given one of the rooms not remodeled...even though we saw NOT one other person there he said they were full????

Give yourself a taste of history.
You are stepping back in history here. Depression era tiny rooms including a garage! We found it very interesting imagining the Okies who passed thru w all their belongings packed into a jalopy. Some Depression era pictures on the wall would be good.

Misleading pictures of hotel
The Expedia listing erroneously (?) shows the hotel next door (The Lodge), which has a nice log cabin look. The Grand Motel is not nearly as nice looking on the outside, which was disappointing. Don't make the mistake we made by trying to check into The Lodge, based on the Expedia pictures. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. There is no place to put bathroom items in the bathroom, and the heating/AC unit did not seem to turn off until the temperature was very different than the setting on the thermostat.

It was rated 2 stars, but I would only give it 1 star. It was very old, the room was very plain, but it did have a refrigerator and a good tv. We have stayed in several 2 stars before, and they were much nicer than this. The host was very helpful, though, so I'd give him 2 stars.

Quaint very old motel, beautifully renovated.
Basic accommodation but spotlessly clean and very comfortable, and very inexpensive. Host Rich is very attentive and does an excellent job of making sure you are comfortable - but don't take his advice on where to eat. The restaurant he recommended was expensive and terrible, and didn't honour the discount voucher he gave us.

I was very impressed with the area knowledge of Rich, the owner. He was extremely professional, gregarious friendly, accommodating, and very helpful. What has been advertised is what you get and more. Whenever I go back to Grand Canyon, I will definitely stay there again.

Give It A Chance. Historical Building.
This building was the first ever hotel in Williams. It is on the National Register of Historic Places and has a plaque on the outside wall. It has a great story that's part of the town's history, so if you're looking for something experiential, you will definitely get that here. The owner is very personable and knows a lot about the town, the building, and the area. The hospitality is exceptional. The building is very old and may not have as many modern amenities or feel as a newer franchise, but they are in the process of making more improvements, and I found this hotel had a more local feel compared to the big chains that maybe can't keep up with their housekeeping like they should. The rooms are small, but that's part of its history. However, they are VERY clean and they're not all on top of each other, so the rooms are very quiet. Not even noise from the street. The bed was very comfortable and we slept good and hard. The bathroom is clean. I've stayed in more expensive hotels that weren't as clean. No mystery stains on the towels or linens. No unpleasant smells. No dust or dirt. Hardwood floors take the mystery out of carpet. I walked around barefoot and my feet stayed clean. Nice little patio in front of each room with chairs. Bedside charging outlets. LCD TV. Micro & Fridge. Beautiful lilac, snapdragon, & blue spruce flowerbeds. Minutes walk from shops & restaurants.
