Its OK . The best prt is the beach and the pool. However they close the pool at 6 pm. When asked why? They told.me its Govt. Rules....which i doubt as orhwr pools in TN are open till 7:30/8 pm. It would be lovely to swim after sughtseeing and coming to the hotel...but well! Beach us lovely... food is OK OK. Rooms we stayed in were small ... opening a bag was also uncomfortable. They could keep it cleaner...there were pckets and small plastic waste in front of our toom in the garden. Needs attention..definetly. Loved the beach and pool!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ideal Beach Resort! Comfortable and spacious rooms, great service and delicious food during both breakfast and dinner. Mosquitoes are naturally present given the location, so be sure to pack something to deter them. Wifi is not great, so if you need a connection for whatever reason, perhaps plan ahead.

Extremely attentive staff and fantastic restaurant. We went for the Sri Lanka theme, and enjoyed the live music at dinner as well as the excellent Sri Lankan food at breakfast. Very clean beach. They need to check the plumbing to avoid bathroom odors.

The room was spacious and clean. IBR has a private beach which was clean. It also had a nice pool where we enjoyed our time.

Our 3 night stay was lovely. The beach is clean and well serviced by staff. I really enjoyed our first day on the beach, it was picturesque and relaxing. On the second day it was not. There was a large conference at the resort and the beach was packed with loud people who had no concept of personal space. It was really unpleasant, but not much could be done about it other than leaving the beach. Just hope that others get to experience a day like our first, though it is out of guests control. There was some dust on the bedroom furniture, but everything else was great and the bed was amazingly comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and clean. The food was very good and the live music entertainment was enjoyable. The staff were very attentive to our needs. Just ask, and they make it happen.

Located just outside of the town of Mahabalipuram, 3km away and only a short rickshaw ride into town. Hotel and grounds are a haven for relaxation and if you want your moments of true India, the town is just a hop away. Fabulous staff too, they can't do enough for you. Shame we were only there for one night.

This is a good beach resort about an hour south of Chennai and about 15 min from Mahabalipurum's main sites. Checkin and checkout were pretty fast and easy, although someone mixed up our bill and came after us saying we still owed something, which was embarassing in the parking lot (and also not true--- their error). The room was comfy, clean and well appointed with good modern bathroom, and the front terrace was lovely but didn't overlook the ocean (looked at a lawn and a wall around the property). Meals were all buffet and good diversity with average quality and presentation---and be sure to go early as quantity runs out. The private beach area is great-- basic huts and hammocks and chairs are all convenient, and the little beach restaurant is basic but fine (and closes at 18h). The pool and surrounding area is pretty small and is jammed with kids and families from morning to closing. The area was very crowded-- lots of people everywhere. For almost 9,000 INR per room (deluxe) per night including taxes, i expected much more.....and will look elsewhere next time.

It is good. But for the same money you get at other places a little bit more than just good. The rooms are clean and comfortable enough but you can see, that they are old. For example you would not expect these simple door systems or an empty fridge called "Minibar". On the other hand the service was quite good and the staff friendly and helpfull. so, as I said, it was good.

My partner & I loved staying here. The staff was top notch, always helpful and friendly, anticipating our needs, taking the time to do little "extras" that were not required. The swimming pool was wonderful. Massages good. Beach well cared for. The food was very authentic Indian and delicious. Huge variety of delicious offerings for their buffet breakfasts & lunches. I also tried the breakfast buffet at nearby Radisson Blu and rank the one at Ideal Beach Resort was MUCH better (and WAY cheaper). We came at the hottest time of the year and the electricity cycled on and off a few times a day (not unusual in India, so can't fault them for that). The rooms are air conditioned and very comfortable. The only thing you should be aware of is the dining room area is open air to the outdoors (covered so you don't get rained on and wired sides so the birds don't come land on your plate), so it is quite warm. Their are many overhead fans to keep the air moving, but if it's 100 Degrees F outside, that still leaves me sweating profusely and uncomfortably hot. If that's an issue for you, go at a cooler time of year.

L hôtel est un peu vieillissant mais tellement bien entretenu que cela n est pas gênant. J y retournerai pour un autre séjour bien volontiers.
