A Little Gem in the Heart of Essex

Stayed here to attend a family do and this was the best B&B I have ever stayed in. The owners made you feel welcome and made you feel like a family friend than a stranger. MY double room was very comfortable and the breakfasst next morning was really tasty. If I was travelling through that part of essex and needed a room I would have no hesitation in booking them again.

Excellent stay in Thaxted

Paul is a wonderful host and a goldmine of information about the Thaxted area. My room and private bath were excellent, and use of the sitting room downstairs a plus. Excellent cooked breakfast and reliable wifi, with garage parking behind the house. I recommend it highly!

An Excellant Place to Stay!

Fantastic place to stay. It has everything: lovely, helpful hosts; a delightful room and ours had an amazing ensuite with a shower that alone was worth the visit and then it gets better with a medieval town location with bells ringing the night we visited and live music in the local pub you can walk to easily; and a delicious English breakfast. Did I mention how lovely the hosts are!

beautiful house set in the perfect location.

The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Set in the perfect location with it's quaint pubs and its lively wine bar, it was the perfect romantic night away. The owners went beyond expectations offering us plenty of hot drinks, fresh food and gave us a lovely insight into the town and it's history. Its set in a peaceful historic town and has a nice balance between the history and the villages' pubs, however if you're looking to venture out into a little bit more of a busier high street, there is one not far down the road. This night away was simply perfect.
