Not impressed
The room was very hot, no air in our room, maple bugs in our room, bar closes at 8 which is disappointing. All staff that were working were very nice. Bunch of staff were locked out 386 days when we asked reception they said they choice to be there. We were told aboutvit day of our stay. We talked to the workers and one has been there 20 years they want to lower ther pay. after new owners.

4/10 Fair

We booked our stay online, arriving late evening and leaving the next morning. In the morning the hotel was almost deserted. At breakfast, we were surprised to see a van outside indicating that there was a labour action taking place and the employees of the hotel had been locked out. Our server was lovely but I was further surprised that she was a temporary foreign worker whose employment, I would think, is contingent on there being no available Canadian citizens to do the job. I went to speak with the locked out employees- as of September 2024 they had been locked out over 370 days. Expedia should indicate when this type of situation exists before booking, we would have chosen another hotel rather than cross the worker’s picket line.

4/10 Fair

We booked a room with two queen beds.. we got to the hotel, the lady at the desk helped us check in, we paid a 250$ but the couple in front of us didn’t have too we did, and as stated by her it was because we have “children”.. anyways not a big deal just thought a little weird. we got into our room to realize the beds are doubles.. we went to the front desk and asked if we can get money off as the room isn’t the one I booked.. they said no they don’t do refunds.okay fine.she then did offer me to move rooms with the proper beds I said sure but yet again they were not queens.. we left it and dealt with it, when we checked our room there was bugs in our bathroom.. and a huge stain on the rug as well as a stain on the blanket on the bed… was brought to there attention but was never taken care of. The stairs into the pool were horrible, The pool was also not as clean or updated as much as it says it is.. the pool side court yard, was nice but had some dirty spots and was very rough on the feet hot tub was good but none the less not sure how clean it is. We put a “Do Not Disturb” sign on our door and they still came in moved our personal belongings and cleaned the room… There was supposed to be a complementary breakfast but was told we needed a “voucher” not a big deal we just went else where for breakfast… would have been nice to know this. We spent some money on there vending machines.. and I was doubled charged on both purchases.. a bag of hickory sticks ($3.25) was charged

2/10 Poor

They are not advertising that they have locked out the union staff and are trying to get them to work for nothing. The hot tub is like warm bath water and we found a cockroach in our room! The best they could do was give a $15 discount on the room. Will never darken their doors again.

Location is very good and AIr Conditioning is great Staff are helpful but charging such a heavy damage deposit to an 82 year old is ridiculous. I know I get it back but it is out of line with the rest of industry. Poor advertising, people remember negatives.

The hotel is in an OK part of town, but it's not 'lovely'. This isn't in the hotel's control, and I'm not complaining ...just observing. The hotel is fine ...the area it's in ...'meh'
