We really enjoyed our stay in this German castle! To access rooms on an upper level, you can take a spiral staircase, or a very small elevator. The detail throughout the place was quite lovely, ranging from the sconces on the wall, the family crests in the lounge, and the old fashioned door keys. There's a nice bar right next to the check in desk, which is open until 9pm (but depending on who is working that night, they may keep it open longer for you). And the breakfast spread in the morning is wonderful - eggs, traditional German bread, rolls, cheeses, lox, coffee, juices, yogurt, fresh fruit, etc... we really enjoyed it and looked forward to it each morning. Two things to be aware of... the floors in the rooms are wooden and VERY creaky. And the second, the 2 rooms we were in (superior rooms on the second floor) had a shower attached to a very high tub, meaning it was hard for one of our travelers (my 74 year old mom) to step into. But the hotel was able to provide a step stool which helped her out.
Overall, we loved this place and would stay here again!
