8/10 Very good

Could be an amazing hotel again.
I have stayed for 3 nights . On first impressions the hotel looks fantastic. Lovely warm welcome. Beautiful reception. . My room was very nice . . Nice view of the bay. Room furnishings very warn. Wardrobe doors difficult to open as off the track . Safe did not work. New one was brought to the room . Obviously not bolted down . You received lots of toiletries toothbrushes and vanity kit. Room has bottles of water , kettle coffee and an ironing board. Hotel has a swimming pool on the roof . Beautiful views and sunsets. Pool area real needs some maintenance lots and lots of tiles missing off the pool itself. Be careful some sharp edges. . You can tell the hotel has been top end . It's just a little worn now. Breakfast was ok . Sitting looking around the breakfast hall again it needs a good clean . Lots of empty spaces that are dirty . Coffee is shocking . I did tell the host as I left . Breakfast possibly what was left over the night before as we had things like carbonara for breakfast . Breakfast staff so lovely. Again sitting observing. Kitchen staff leaning over and just eating from the food display . Almost all of them on mobile phones then touching food . One guy sneezed in to his hands . Just wiped them down his apron. Thankfully id eaten at that point . I only paid £80 per night but for the Philippines that's a fair bit . All in all great location. Few mins walk from parks and attractions. Can be noisy on weekends as you are next to ocean park. Live bands playing.

Lovely hotel in a historic building
Had an excellent stay at the Rizal Park Hotel. It’s set in the old Manila Army and Navy Club, so the building was steeped in history, making the stay very interesting The rooms were lush, clean and bed was comfortable. The staff went out of their way to cater to our needs and were very flexible when it came to checking in and out. Walking distance to the hotel were several areas of interest such as the Rizal Memorial Park and a few museums so there were plenty of things to do as a tourist there. I would definitely stay again

Poor maintenance outweigh the charm of this place
Just wanted a place to spend the night after a tiring visit to the areas of my alma mater. Check in was smooth. Front staff were nice. Hotel facade didn’t disappoint. But immediately after entering elevator, i can sense the oldness of building. Many spots on walls that could have been cleaned. Baseboard rotting. I accidentally walked past my room and horrified with staircase that’s full of molds /mildew on the wall. The walls of my room have signs of molds/mildew as well. The whole family was tired and i had no energy to fight. Our bathroom was well supplied. But our shower was wiggly. There’s a screw missing. We went to visit the pool area the next day for picture. Very far from pictures published in website. Lots of missing tiles. Breakfast buffet had a good selection. Weird that there’s no available milk even after requesting for a little bit “from the back”. I thought PHP 2k per head is a bit pricey. Then hotel management needs to improve cleanliness of the place. I just haven’t gotten the chance to reach out to my fraternity brods and friends in power. It is at a level of unsafe for public. DOH needs to visit the place.
Beautiful lobby with elegant Christmas tree
Beautiful chandelier in the lobby
Beautiful chandelier inside room
Mildew/molds on the walls inside room

2/10 Poor

Poor management of quality standards to hotel
Hôtel marketed on the lobby only. However quality of hotel is extremely poor for a 4* hotel which culminated on a wasted three nights: - Coffee machine broken (previous review 5 months ago still broken). Which 4* hotel cannot make a Cappuchino? To top it coffee is not with milk but sachets of creamer. Even airlines provide milk! - Hotel restaurant did not accept credit card and we could not add the food bill to the room. Which 4* hotel does this? - Breakfast is quantity over quality. Breakfast is cold so don’t expect noodles/rice/meat/fish/veg to seem cooked. Weirdly no selection of desserts in the buffet breakfast. Nasty smell in the third morning - Corridor walking up to the room had a gaping hole - As a tourist to get about (not hotels fault however) you’ll be lucky to get a grab/taxi especially during rush hour due to Manila traffic. This reinforces the requirement to ensure the hotel is to the quality standard expected as tourists if taxi not possible we were isolated in a hotel which was challenging to say the least especially within limited eateries and coffee places nearby. - Poorly maintained room corridors, room, back out door areas and restaurant that does not meet the maintenance invested in the lobby area. The back area connected to the lobby is not routinely cleaned. Even if staff see there are cans/cups that could be taken away to ease the appearance, there was no collective responsibility to ensure a clean environment. Note that staff were friendly.

This hotel was a bit dated, and some parts are in need to maintenance. The rooms were comfortable and spacious, but there wasn't much of a view from most of the rooms in the hotel. The hotel is a bit on isolated grounds which is good if safety is your priority. Their pool near the rooftop was great, and had a great view of Manila Bay and the H20 hotel. Its very close to Rizal Park itself (less than a 5 min walk). There are lots of places nearby to eat, and Robinson's Mall is about a 20-30 minute walk away or about a 10 minute drive. I wouldn't recommend walking into the small streets at night if you aren't too used to the Philippines. Grab or their other ride share apps are relatively cheap to use and accessible enough, but try using it during non-rush hour times otherwise you'll be stuck in traffic for a while, and most drivers may not want to accept if its a short distance. Their breakfast was very filling, nothing to write home about, but it did its job. In my own opinion, the price was a bit high for what you're getting. Its a nice place if you're looking for security, safety, and convenience. If you're looking for a new, high-end hotel with great amenities, this place may not be for you.

My stay, was okay but had a few problems, Aircon broke right before bed and was not fixable, so we had to transfer rooms. The restaurant was under construction so had to leave the hotel to get food.

Property was understaffed, had limited food and beverages available, and struggled with maintenance. Historic setting, but if you like the history the Manila Hotel is across the street and is wildly better managed and maintained.

I got there a bit late, around 5:08 PM, and ended up waiting about 30-40 minutes to check in because the room needed cleaning. When I finally got to my room, the housekeeping staff was still finishing up. I was supposed to check in at 2 PM, so I’m wondering why the room wasn’t ready even though I arrived later.
