A good and comfortable bed, a large room with shared balcony, and a large bathroom are positives for this property.
On the negative side, the shower was hand-held, with half glass door so the floor will get wet. The young woman behind the front desk at check-in had an attitude, and when I asked about a room on the ground floor instead of walking up the rounded stairway - the hotel was empty, (I explained I had an issue with stairs, she literally laughed at me). I didn’t expect that, it was extremely rude. When she realized I was having some anxiety about these stairs she did offer to “try” to find another room, rather than making the arrangement. She didn’t offer one, so it was an empty offer. The rugs in the halls are very worn, so a spruce-up would be advised. Breakfast is expensive so I would suggest having breakfast out, there are plenty of places in St. Jean du Luz, some by the marina or in the covered food markets. Also beware you have to park the car in a lot across the street, so drop off your bags first - and there is NO elevator. We chose the hotel for price and the fact that we had a car and for that reason, it worked out. However, surely young women shouldn’t be at the front desk.
