Stay was great overall. We were on the top 9th floor. Our water took forever to get hot the 1st time but did fine after that. Pur toilet flusher was broken but someone came to fix it within 5 minutes. Walls are thin so we Could hear people in the rooms on each side of us but nothing terrible. Was clean and service was top notch! Only ate at the cafe in the restaurant twice. Dinner was great, breakfast was meh...but everyone has different tastes so Im sure a lot loved it. Loved the convenience of the shuttle to the parks. Never waited more than 5 minutes for one. We'd definitely stay again!

Good Accommodations and Friendly Staff
Value hotel for Universal. Smaller amenities compared to other Universal hotels but adequate for size of hotel. Nice pool area and fitness center. Shuttles to parks came regularly and no problem getting on them. Very nice staff! Had to wait for room about an hour after check-in time but they were sold out. Beds are a little soft but plenty of room in the suite. Food area got crowded but they handled it well. I would stay again but avoid during major holidays.

Cheap, clean room and convenient shuttle
Great price $159 + tax for a Universal hotel. We took advantage of the shuttle service for dinner in City Walk and for our early entry to the Universal parks. Surprisingly easy and efficient! We had planned to park our car at City Walk but the shuttle was so easy it was a no brained. Two couples stayed in a two queen room without space issues. Since Surfside is a relatively new hotel, everything was clean and updated. The wives enjoyed the pool and were impressed with the bi-lingual lifeguard.

Nice stay!
We stayed for 3 days while we visited the nearby Universal parks. Overall, the hotel was nice and we slept well each night. I would have appreciated a heavier comforter or blanket on the bed. The floor in the room and bathroom were not clean; bring slippers or flip-flops to walk around in. We enjoyed entering the parks an hour early. We will stay here again.
