Mixed
I was upgraded on my arrival to a beautiful room with a lovely bed, couch and work desk. I was given a discount card for the restaurant across the street but I was unable to use it as the restaurant remained closed for the 4 days of my trip. My biggest concern was the heating system. There is a thermostat in the room for the room heater which worked fine. But there is a heating vent over the bed that did not have any controller in the room. It made a loud, consistent buzzing sound when it turned on and that was especially annoying at night. I asked the hotel if they could turn it off and they said it was not possible. They also said they would send someone to check it, but nobody came by. I was told by the front desk staff to just get earplugs. The toilet backed up on the third day but the maintenance guy showed up in a reasonable amount of time to fix the problem. I like the hotel and have stayed there before, but the annoyances this time colored the experience.

4/10 Fair

Disappointing, won't be back
We have stayed in Montreal several times and thought we'd try a new hotel this time. The hotel was beautiful, room was spacious and bed was comfortable. No elevator made it very challenging. The tub was tiny which is fine except the shower curtain was hung a few inches from the shower head which meant the curtain pressed against your body meaning you're showering with all the other guests who were there previously. They could at least have invested in a curved shower rod or moved the straight rod over a few inches. There was very little hot water so showers were tepid at best. There was black mold in the grout underneath the tub faucet - the picture doesn't show it well but the rest of the grout was a dark grey, not black. Despite the spacious room, the fridge was a tiny mini fridge which barely held anything. No microwave. The floors creaked horribly so any time someone above you moved, you knew it. A disappointing stay to say the least and we will not be back.

Hotel easily accessible by Metro and bus. Plenty of restaurants around the area and feel safe even at night time. Just note this hotel does not have lift. Overall staff are friendly and helpful. We would stay in this hotel again when we have the chance to come back at Montreal.

Solo Birthday Getaway
I greatly enjoyed my stay! The staff was displayed excellent customer service skills. The room was a King with fireplace and I could not have been more pleased with the space and view. I can't wait to return with my friends and family on my next adventure to Montreal from Alabama!

So so
We liked Chateau Versailles on our prior stay. This time it was pretty affordable but we got what we paid for. The room on the avenue was a bit too loud. Also, with hotels.com res, we were supposed to get a room upgrade which we didn’t and the $10 credit was hard to use bc the restaurant/bar was closed. We don’t mind stairs but if you do beware, you might have to climb a couple floors. Not the worst, not so great, but it does include a modest breakfast.

Solid 3 star
It's a solid 3 star hotel in beaten up condition. Don't let the name of the hotel fool you - it's not a palace. Breakfast was quite good, surprisingly. Staff at the desk were helpful.
