Great historical inn
The historical aspect of the hotel was wonderful. Obviously it will have issues with a house that old. Single pane wood windows. Drafty. Extension cords all over the place. Bathroom door would not open all of the way because it hit the vanity. Only a shower. Tub faucet knobs had been removed. I should have read the amenities more closely. Pics showed a bar and breakfast. It has neither. Elevator out of order and apparently has been for quite awhile. Bed was ok. It is a very old house so it is very noisy. It is a great location. Staff was very nice. With all that being said. The only thing that bothered me was no bar & no breakfast.

Very French
Very old hotel. Super nice room with balcony. You go through an old window about 8 feet high. A step back in time.

Lovely, unique find and value in downtown
We love this place and this was our third year in a row of staying here. I would have awarded 5 stars but the elevator was out of service (again) so accessibility for my wife and luggage to our second floor room was difficult. In the future, I will be sure to discuss room options, accessibility-wise with them beforehand, they are extremely helpful. Keep in mind the historic rooms are a little quirky, but nicely furnished. Again I encourage you to call before hand and they can walk you through what the rooms have and don't have. It is a great location within short walking distance to downtown attractions and restaurants. And a very short drive or medium length walk to the awesome Gulf Maritime Museum! Overall a great value and free parking to boot. Old downtown area Mobile is lovely with the old oaks and public squares.

Mobile
Very outdated. Half of the outlets in the room didn’t work, the bed was amazing, Overall maintenance is very poor, a lot of holes in the walls and such.

2/10 Poor

One of the noisiest hotels I’ve ever stayed at
Our room was just above the main entrance and the door slam shut every time somebody walks through it so we listen to that door slam shut until about 2 o’clock in the morning. The bed is so wore out that I sunk probably 4 to 6 inches into the bed if you look under the bed, there is a big hole in the box springs. the only thing that this hotel had going forward is it was clean

History at its best
We had an excellent experience but we were there due to the ac not working at our place so our focus was elsewhere. I can say that the service was excellent and the room was comfortable and clean. The history of the building is an experience of its own!

Beautiful Place
The hotel is beautiful. We loved all the furnishings and the old wood floors, and the courtyard. The four-poster bed was nice, but the mattress was not good. My head was “downhill”, so I didn’t sleep well. I think for a one-night stay the hotel is fine, but I would not recommend a longer stay.
