Undisclosed very noisy building works at the pool area, and painting work. Only informed of the latter at check -in! Swim up bar closed. Extremely loud music in an attempt to drown out the power drills, which could be heard along the entire beach-front and spoiled any chance to relax. Strong Mould smell in room, and throughout accommodation blocks. Faulty & very noisy air-conditioning unit which disturbed sleep. Switching it off left room to warm to sleep in. Missing amenities in room. Disposable plastic drinks containers at nightclub. Extremely slow WiFi, meaning struggled to check -in for flight/order a taxi. No bellboy to help with luggage on early evening arrival. Only QR code menus at restaurants/bars, slow to load with poor wifi. Ocean water warm but dirty. Not the same standard as several other Dreams resorts stayed at unfortunately.

Hotel was in the middles of rain forest away from all nigh life and property was surrounded by wild life possums, plenty of raccoons at night lizards and and some sloths but this was not the issue the issue was the raccoons and given that the hotel have rooms on the outside please if you stay here keep your room service plates inside for housekeeping. The outdoor hallways will be over a with raccoons during the night and as far of the dining option of the 4-5 eateries many of which are formal don’t offer variety. The best from far was the seafood restaurant. Hands down of all the eateries this offered the better quality and better tasting menus . It’s a seafood restaurant but meat options were available.

I was there for my friends birthday, I was told that she would get a cake at her birthday dinner and a banner on her door and when it came to the date of her birthday, none of that happened. And the staff acted like they had heard none of this before after I had confirmed with them times. I also bought sunscreen at the gift shop that I did not get the discount for due to the pool not being open and it did not prevent burning one bit. I put it on four separate times every two hours and I burnt straight through meaning this sunscreen should not be in the shop. Also, when they clean your room daily, they do not clean the floors. Also, we had no idea that there was an activity area where they did nighttime activities for adults on the back of the property because no one told us about the app nor did any of the staff direct us to when we would talk to them about what was going on. We found it on our own the last day before we were going to leave. All in all I will not need to stay again. It was fine, but definitely not the worth of money we paid.

The Dreams Playa Bonita Resort is an excellent all-inclusive resort. My wife and I enjoyed all the amenities as well as the food and beverage options. There are three restaurants, the Oceana (seafood), Bordeaux (French), and Portofino (Italian) as well as a buffet option and snack bar. Further, the service was amazing. We had a minor issue with the room originally assigned to us, but the resort staff addressed the problem and immediately resolved the issue. I highly recommend this resort.

Properly and surrounding area are beautiful. Food and drinks were good. Staff was friendly and courteous. No complaints as amenities go, they had daily and nightly activities on property. Only complaint would be the raccoons and agouti rodents coming onto property due to room service dishes being left outside by people after they finish eat. This encouraged the animals to come onto property in groups trying to feed off of what was left on plates and dishes. All in all it was a great vacation and my family and I enjoyed ourselves.

Dreams Playa Bonita is a beautiful property located right on the beach. The staff went above and beyond to look after us and they genuinely seemed happy and eager to please, of all the all inclusive properties I have stayed at the staff at Playa Bonita were by far the best. There were for some reason a lot of negative reviews for this property and I don’t know if there is a “Princess and the Pea” situation going on here but this is a very nice property and definitely not anywhere close to the one star ratings some people have been giving, this isn’t the Bates Motel after all. I wanted to clarify the information about the swimming conditions at the beach, the tide comes in and goes out quite dramatically, but at certain times of the day the water is quite nice for swimming (mornings and afternoons). Because of the tide movement the visibility of the water is quite poor, so a positive is you will never see the shark coming, ignorance is bliss as they say, so leave your snorkel equipment at home. All kidding aside the water is safe and I swam far out daily without any problems. My wife and I felt the food was tasty, our only complaint is that the plated restaurants did not always offer a vegetarian menu for the main course. The buffet did offer daily vegan options which was much appreciated by us. Lastly we got to see some sloths at the resort, and no I’m not talking about the guests lounging beside the poolside bar, two/toed sloths which were even cuter than expected.

My experience at the hotel was excellent. We were warmly welcomed with a glass of champagne, and check-in was incredibly swift. The hotel overall was fantastic; while the bathroom could use some updates, it was spotless, which is what matters most. I had a wonderful stay and have already booked another visit for next month.
