5 out of 5 stars for Latch Inn
Loved staying at Latch Inn. Very quaint. Breakfast was wonderful! Our hosts were great! The bed was comfy and we could open our window onto the covered balcony so our room was not too hot or too cool.

So close
The hotel itself was really cool and rustic. The hotel had a bit of an old house smell. Can't really describe it beyond old house smell. Our room however had a distinct smelly foot/sock or smelly dog smell. Keep in mind we were in a pet friendly room so maybe that was why? But the carpet was was very dirty looking and the whole room smelled pretty bad. We opened the windows to get some fresh air but the boat repair next door was running power tools literally all night. I woke up at 2am to some sort of sander/grinder noise. It has amazing potential to be a super romantic spot. The lounge is beautiful and cozy and the man hosting while we were there was so friendly and accommodating. I just had a hard time with the odor and the all night noise from the next door boat repair place.

The staff at The Latch provided individually prepared breakfasts with great service in a lovely dining room. It’s an interesting historic setting for any length stay. Having your own car will make staying at The Latch more convenient to enjoy the Island.

We enjoyed our stay at the inn!! But in walking in the door the first time, the musky smell of the older facility almost took us a back. We actually considered canceling the rest of our reservation. I have allergies and asthma. But we were so exhausted when we arrived, we opted to stay. We had an excellent night’s sleep in the lovely Library Room. By the next morning we were both happy we had made the choice to stay there!!!

Breakfast was excellent . No other meals were available. A six oz glass of wine during happy hour was expensive . $15.99 . The house is very old but has lots of character. and well maintained . Service from the two staff members was excellent.

Staff tried their best. Breakfast was great. Very friendly. Interior has a musty smell suggesting carpets should go. Bathrooms need a deep clean and updates to pipes. When I run the water the first water is brown then goes clear.

The property was quaint and old fashioned. The servers were polite and considerate. The bathroom had many unsightly aspects, for example the shower leaked and kept us up at nigh and had stains in the shower. If guests walked around at all you could hear every step in their room or on stairs. We needed to checkout early on last day, coordinated with inn keeper 48 hours in advance, then 24hours in advance for a togo breakfast due to early departure. However inn keeper ignored our requests and never attempted to accommodate our togo breakfast, even though its stated on the website and we engaged verbally several times. All in all it was an adequate stay, but i would not recommend.

Excellent hosts, but condition of room below average. Carpet was worn and dirty, in need of deep cleaning or replacement. Room was musty and malodorous, helped somewhat by opening all windows, but a limited option given outdoor temps. Suggest clean linens at least every other day as well as emptying the one very small trash can. Breakfast was well done.

The 2 managers are very courteous and eager to help. Getting in was a problem, no one answered phone calls or replied to emails. Plumbing is old and very poor instructions on our to use the tub and shower.
