Honeymoon Stay
We had a fantastic time at The Cleftstone. The staff was accommodating and friendly - Steffen and Corey were awesome. The whole Inn is super clean, classy, and homey. We stayed in Room 14 for our honeymoon and it was gorgeous! We also can’t say enough about the breakfast. It was insanely good!

Total Charm
This was the absolute cutest property of our week in Maine. Every room was beautifully decorated and the details made everything so charming. By the way, the best sleeping pillows too! They also served breakfast in the morning and it was delicious! This Inn is off the beaten path of Bar Harbour which is nice during high season. We loved everything about it. If going to Bar Harbour, it's a must!

Breakfast options were tasty. My only regret was booking room 17. The climb up the 3rd flight of steps left me feeling unsafe due to no handrail while climbing up to a loft area. Room 17 is very small, which it does state. The dormer wall was annoying. I hit my head a couple times and so did my husband. But little time was spent in the room, except to sleep. The flowers on the breakfast tables were nice, but the water in the vases were dirty, kind of a sore sight. Other than these small items, it’s a nice place to stay.

Lovely old period house with an eclectic layout. Rooms 1 (we were in 1) and 2 backoff reception and the lounge, so you go to sleep with the last guest and rise with the earlist. The Inn was understaffed but they did do their best.

We stayed in the attic..
We stayed in room 18. It is a hike of steps so pack light. The breakfast was great. The staff was friendly and helpful. Just make sure you know what your room is when you book.

As of August 2024, this property has undergone a complete renovation and is in PERFECT condition. Our room was very large, with a separte sitting room. Staff is wonderful. Property is an easy and enjoyable walk to "downtown" Bar Harbor with its restaurants. Parking is abundant. Breakfast was good. The only negative is that property is located directly on what is now a busy highway leading to Bar Harbor. With the double (or triple pane) windows closed and the AC on, the room was very quiet. But it would have been nice to open all the windows and enjoy the clean Maine air. But the car noise was too intense for that. It should be noted that busy Route 1 is where most hotels and B&B's are located. So this problem is generic to Bar Harbor. If you really care about a quiet room with the windows open, research your hotel choices in Bar Harbor carefully.

Only got to stay 1 night but everything was so enjoyable! Very clean, comfy beds, updated amenities but still had a vintage charm. The girl at the front desk (Sam) was so welcoming and quick to help - answering questions and offering to print my Acadia parking pass for example. This was my first time staying at an Inn and needless to say, I’m eager to visit again!

A wonderful/clean B&B in a superb location. It was a quick drive to Acadia National Park and within walking distance of the shops and restaurants in Bar Harbor. The staff were friendly and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was pleasant. Breakfast was delicious and consisted of your choice of a savory option or sweet. For example, we had the option of spinach, tomato, and feta frittata or lemon ricotta and blueberry pancakes. My husband and I plan on returning to this B&B when we revisit this area.
