Basic run-down motel
The elementary room has a somewhat decent bed. Pillows, not so much. The hot water pressure for the shower was non-existent. The AC/Heater was very dusty, but luckily, the window could be opened, so I didn't have to turn it on. Lighting was SUPER bright to the point of being blinding.

Great for Convention, Not Much Else
I stayed here with my spouse and 2 friends for Animé Los Angeles. The proximity to the convention center is great, and only being a block from Vons is also great, but not having a working A/C/Heater was frustrating. We got lucky the temperature was so agreeable during our stay. Lots of space in the room, although the elevator was terrifying from how FAST it closes. It claimed a leg of my wig-stand while we were pushing the dolly into the elevator. My biggest issue was the parking situation. I want to believe it was because of the fires going on, but the other people we'd marked down on our reservation were not allowed to park on-site. Only our car was given a parking permit by the hotel, and that was still an extra $10 per night. Thankfully, we're taking a train next year, so our friends can have the parking space, but just a heads up to anyone planning on staying here for Animé Los Angeles. Try and take ONE car to save yourself the trouble.
