First time staying
The Golden Nugget Hotel was pretty decent for the price and being right on Fremont Street. Rooms were a little dated (especially showing on the bathroom fixtures, tub, sink, etc) but it is an older hotel. Bathroom cleanliness was a lacking with hair from the previous tenants on the tub and bathroom ceiling. Found a used washcloth on top of the shower curtain. Bathroom sink drained really slow, so we contacted the hotel and they reported they would “send an engineer”. Sink continued to drain slow throughout our stay. Overall, not terrible and bed was decently comfortable. Got pretty tiring getting heckled by promises of “free” things from hotel staff by one of the entrances. Maybe this is a common occurrence in hotels in Vegas as this was our first trip, but definitely could have gone without that.

Need more kitchen accommodations.
I have no idea why there wouldn't be a small refrigerator. A coffee pot And microwave in the room. We did eat out at the restaurants but we couldn't bring anything back because we had no where to put it. We're in a casino where we're up all night so it'd be nice to be able to make a cup of coffee when you get up in the morning. Thank God for Chick-fil-A. I will give them 1000% kudos for making up for all of the Golden nuggets weaknesses.

Few worries!
King size bed was comfortable. Bathroom door was desgned wrong, it should have opened into the room instead of the bathroom. There was a aweful smell coming from the bathroom lavatory whenever the water was turned on. Also the light in the shower blinked constatly, will cause a per with medical issues to have trouble. The air-mover fan in the bathroom is also undersized and takes forever for the bathroom mirror to unfog.

Very unwelcoming check in . No customer service
Extremely disappointed starting with our arrival . No one behind the registration desk to greet us or offer any assistance. Our uber driver dropped us off at the Rush tower registration desk to find a sign saying CLOSED and then we had to sheep all out baggage to another tower bldg to find no live person to help us . We found an employee and asked for help and was told to go to a computer and sign in self. Again no one to welcome us or answer any questions we had. The computer said we would get a text when room was ready , when we asked another employee in the area she said it would be anytime 3 pm to 3 am. This whole experience was not warm or helpful. No managers on site were visible. Not used to ever have an experience when checking in at a hotel. Seems like they were more concerned about profits over satisfied customers. As a hotels.com member for many years this experience did not meet our expectations . we would never return and will not recommend Golden Nugget to anyone we know.
