In New York for 5 days to attend our daughter’s graduation, and wanted something in the middle of Manhattan so we were close to transportation, our event, and local attractions. The Renwick met our requirements at a very reasonable price.
Went through their online pre-checkin process which they sent to me via text. Paid a $75 fee after being approved for early check-in. Provided ID and credit card info online. We arrived at check in desk at 8am and were met with no greeting or welcome, even though we were the only ones in the entire lobby. I said hello I am here to check in, response was “check in is not until 4pm”. But I was approved for early check in, well you will call back at 1pm. It was 8am what were we supposed to do. Only a shrug. Thankfully my daughter had a room so toted our luggage up until notification.
On a lark went back down at 10 to see if room was ready making sure to go to another clerk. She was more helpful, found me a room but because of her system could not access any of my precheck in information so back upstairs for ID and Credut Card already provided.
The room itself is good sized by NY hotel standards. There is actually space to spread out on either side of the bed, plus a small desk. Closet space is limited to maybe hanging 5-6 items. Bathroom is small but maneuverable. Sink is tiny so we had to use the desk to hold our toiletries.
There is free water in the room and coffee in the lobby every morning.
