Don't book if you want to use a pool area.
We loved the vibe of the hotel. It truly is a hidden gem. Sure, it could be updated but overall it's quirky and fun. What we didn't love is that we booked this hotel because it lists a pool (and shows pictures of it) on the website.
The pool is dry.
The deck around it is in shambles which was really disappointing. When we talked to the front desk staff about it, he says "Ya. I know. It shouldn't be on the website...."
We also weren't prepared for the rooms not to have air conditioning but that is on the website and we missed it.
The restaurant at the hotel is excellent.

The location was perfect near the convention center and close to restaurants which was very convenient. The staff was very helpful and friendly as well. The hotel had lots of character and I do appreciate the historic nature of it. The biggest drawback is that walls are so incredibly thin and you can hear conversations and next door neighbors through the wall vents in the bedroom and bathroom. Not sure how this can be mitigated but definitely bring ear plugs.

Charming in the hub.
This is a charming hotel in the heart of the downtown district . My only complaint is the hard, uncomfortable pillows. Staying just one night. If my stay would have been longer, i would have asked for replacements. But the room was clean, staff friendly and the area was close to much activity.

Historic Hotel in Phoenix
The service was excellent, check-in was efficient. The bed was a bit small and not very comfortable; but it was fine. I wanted to stay at this hotel because it is old and historic; so it was what I expected! The bathroom is dated, but everything was clean. We stayed because we went to a comedy show at Footprint Center. It was an excellent place to stay in walking distance to basketball & baseball & restaurants.

Fine
The hotel is a bit lesser than what you’d expect. Also, we asked for an additional pillow and some towels during our stay (they only gave us three pillows), and that was a hassle to get.

The only downside was unloading/check-in... The designated unloading area was not enough space to park.
And the parking garage was located with entrance from a different street.
