No Vacancy Studios are a cool Loft vibe stay. They have a nice common room for guests to chill and hangout and an outdoor deck if the weather is right. The location is central and very walkable. Just a block or 2 from the street car. The only negative is there is a cocktail lounge on the front corner of the building below the Studios so you can hear the music on weekends. I would suggest getting Studio 8 if you can!

I did not get any heads up about the check in process......no humans. Also the front lobby/bar/first floor is under renovations, so it is in the door and to your room. There are some parking garages not too far away. Only 3 hour parking on the streets 7 am to 5 pm or something like that. My room did not have a TV. Bed was comfortable. Guessing once they get their act together it will be nice. There was another $50+ dollar of fees collected by the hotel that was not part of hotels.com so their price on the website vs what I paid felt very much like bait and switch, as I had realized in total it would be that much I would have stayed at a nicer hotel........oh well. FYI - there is fair amount of street noise if you are a light sleeper.

What a great place to stay! Loved the location and simplicity of the studio for our short stay. We really appreciated how high the shower head was! Oftentimes, my husband has to duck under! I would maybe suggest mentioning the height of the bed. Or making them all the same height. We met an older couple and got to see their studio #2. Their bed was much lower than ours and could have been difficult to get in and out.

This boutique hotel is a perfect little getaway tucked away in a quaint part of KC, with many bars and shops within a very short distance. The accomodations are eclectic but very comfy, and the atmophere is very chill in the common area upstairs and in the lounge below. The bartenders were very friendly and I appreciated their knowledge, as I had bever been to this part of the country before. I would definitely stay here again

Super hip and cool. Really spacious room that was beautifully decorated and well appointed. Loved that everything was keyless. Staff was super communicative prior to and after arrival. 2 things to note, as at least my room (room 3) is not for everyone. It is above the bar and therefore for anyone who turns in early, there will be music til midnight. Also, for those who like to lay in bed and watch TV; there is no TV in the unit. Again, neither were issues for me, I absolutely loved my stay - but just be aware when booking. I will state here again in a heartbeat.

Staying at No Vacancy in Kansas City felt like stepping into the future. The hotel is undeniably hip, stylish western design, and a vibe that still manages to feel warm and welcoming. Our room was spotless and well maintained, and check-in was as easy as it gets—fast, digital, and entirely contactless. For introverts, or anyone who prefers efficiency over small talk, this setup is fantastic. It reminded me of riding in a Waymo: everything you need without the human interaction. It’s a glimpse of what hospitality might look like in the future, and for the most part, it works very well. That said, guests should be aware of the fees. In our case, the extra charges ended up costing more than the base rate for the room itself. Extending time came with an additional fee, and several other line items showed up that weren’t clearly explained. While the space and concept are great, the layers of fees made the overall value feel less straightforward than we expected. Overall, No Vacancy delivers a clean, modern, and efficient stay with a unique approach to hospitality—perfect for those who value privacy and independence. Just budget a little extra, as the fees can add up quickly.

We absolutely loved our stay. The decor, the comfort. We enjoyed practically everything. Our only critique: EXTREMELY loud inside studio 5 when anyone is in the hall (just walking even). So much more noticeably loud than comparable buildings. I’m not sure if this is acoustics or lack of insulation. Regardless, it didn’t ruin our stay just something to improve upon for quality guest experience.

We loved the No Vacancy. Our room was individually decorated, the parlor area was relaxing and loved the bar with it's Wednesday night, very diverse salsa dancers. The bar tenders were so friendly and led us to a jazz bar for some Kansas City Jazz. We just may return.....

No onsite parking or valet in an extremely quiet neighborhood, felt uncomfortable parking. No coffee available, no mention of any in a lobby, did not pass a lobby to enter and no coffee maker in the room. No hangars, was in for a business trip and wanted to hang my clothes for meetings. Walls are paper thin to the point that I could hear word for word what my neighbors were talking about and they were not speaking in very loud tones. The positives were a clean room and easy entry.

Would not stay here again, and the real problem isn't comfort, it's safety. We got back from dinner around 11pm and the door code we'd been given earlier that day no longer worked. There's no front desk, no staff on site, and no one to call. We stood in a dark alley texting the hotel back and forth trying to get a working code. When we finally got a response, it was flat and unapologetic. Locking paying guests out of their hotel at night with no one on site isn't a minor hiccup. It's a safety problem, and on its own it's enough reason to book somewhere else. The rest only reinforced it. There's no staff and no signage. Everything, including your door code, is buried in Expedia messages. When we arrived we couldn't find any of it and ended up on the phone with a rep who could barely communicate the code or our room number. Once inside, nothing in the building is labeled, so you wander with your luggage trying to find your room. The rooms themselves are clean and cute but tiny. There's nowhere to put anything, so clothes end up on the floor, and the beds are too small for two average-sized adults. There's also a bar or club downstairs bumping loud techno until 1am. Good luck sleeping before then. Cute concept, but the no-staff, code-only model falls apart the second something goes wrong. And it will. Skip it.
