Thotel was good in every way. I encountered a small problem: the hotel would be entitled to charge the whole amount up front in the currency stated - this is the case with ALL Expedia bookings and works very well. This hotel, however, does not charge until the end of the stay. The booking confirmation states: balance due at the hotel: 0 (zero). This is confusing and results in conversation whether the room is already paid for or not, as the customer has no easy way of checking. (Call Expedia, check your bank account or credit card, which credit card?)

Great hotel
Great hotel in very nice area. Rooms are very spacious. For breakfast we could choose from the menu and it was delicious. Parking is available without additional fee. Located near Loket castle.

Very pleasant staff!
There was a mess up with our reservation due to overbooking so we actually stayed at a different hotel (similar) which was arranged by a member of staff of Stein Elbogen. He was very understanding and kind, very customer-oriented and willing to help. He went out of his way to arrange accommodation for us and made sure we were comfortable there. We ended up staying at Cisar Ferdinand but paying at Stein Elbogen for that night. We really appreciate his help! And we will definitely go back to Stein Elbogen and actually experience a stay in rooms full of character!

Close to town, close to nature, very comfortable
Loket is a still little know gem in Bohemia. The old town has a historical feel, while in a middle of a natural environment. Perfectly placed for walks, cycle trips or river sports. The town itself is compact and can be seen in a few hours. Staying in Loket could be a quieter and cheaper base for visiting Karlovy Vary, about 20 mins. by car.
