Old. Needs updating

Worst place I’ve ever stayed.
Avoid this hotel at all cost! It is very dated and feels more like a hospital than a hotel. They are doing major construction and rather than shut down one floor or one wing at a time, they have guests staying IN the construction area. I checked in at almost 4am and told the front desk I was looking forward to some rest. They never mentioned construction. The next morning at 8am, I was awoken by guys using heavy equipment right outside my door. The room itself was super dated. I felt like I was staying in an old hospital, not a hotel. The place is completely torn apart and needs to be shut down for renovation. Motel 6 would be a step up from the Kaylor.

Good service, but room and floor in rough shape.
Lobby was nice, however our whole floor was undergoing renovations which wasn’t known to me during time of booking. Room was dated, especially the bathroom. The light above the mirror barely worked and the only plug-in in the bathroom wasn’t even by a countertop. Didn’t look like pictures shown.

Clean But Old
Overall, this property isn’t bad. It’s tired and needs and serious facelift. It has all the traits of a truly grand hotel that has aged beyond its years. I will say it appeared there was some sort of renovations underway or starting. I reserved a standard size double bed room for my daughter and me. The room was much smaller than aged than the pics on the website. Everything was clean and in working order. Everything was just old, especially the bathroom fixtures, temp control, and room lighting. Also, they have valet parking and a parking ramp connected to the property. We were there for a hockey tournament so I made a number of trips to and from the property. The parking garage fees added almost an extra $100 on to the bill. I would suggest staying on the edge of town at a property with free parking. There isn’t much going on in the city anyway and it’s small enough you can get around easily without a bunch of traffic.

Loved it-but needs a little attention.
Had an appointment at Mayo. GREAT LOCATION & ACCESSIBILITY! Would stay again if need another visit there. Loved the Subway accessibility! A huge plus in our book! But—had NO towels in our room. Had to call at 6am after my husband used the bathmat for a towel. Bathroom-super small. Our room was HOT! Called about it-maintance came and said he would fix it. Nothing really changed. I wasn’t calling multiple days about it. We weren’t in the room much-thankfully. Windows were cracked thank god, thermostat was at 50 in January. Room was uncomfortable warm. Room wasn’t cleaned well at all from Houskeeping. Did find it odd that you have to access pool via a flight of stairs-not elevator. How do disabled people get to use facilities? Most everyone was super nice & friendly. Which was a big change from most hotels we’ve stayed at. Big bonus. The construction is on every floor-which I found odd. Exposed wires EVERYWHERE. Huge hazard. Not gonna lie-kinda made me feel a bit unsafe. But the location & accessibility to surrounding area & Mayo was mindblowing! Made things SO EASY!
