4/10 Fair
19 Nov 2024
Was just really small and very old and missing things from the room. Was charged an extra $200 for damage deposit that wasn’t mentioned beforehand, even though most only do $100, the room itself was almost $600 but when we got in, it was smaller than my closet at home, pretty much just a small closet sized room big enough for a double bed, and then a bathroom that had an old run down shower without a real shower head. It had a tv in the room but the cable box was missing, just loose wires going everywhere that were supposed to be connected to it so we didn’t even have any tv during the stay. It felt more like we were staying at a small town $40 a night motel than a hotel run by Marriott. Not sure if we just got unlucky with the room and the others are better or not but I won’t be back to find out.

Great location with safe car parking.
Great location hotel with safe car parking. Pool looked good and we did use the free laundry services which worked well. The reception gentleman was very friendly on check in and the other two gentleman, Donald and the young man from Delhi were very efficient and helped with our issues. Rooms were comfy with water replenished daily but be aware a partial Seaview for us was one where on a higher floor you could see, if you looked out of a side window, over the houses at the front of the hotel. It didn't; bother me but I was expecting the room to be by the ocean side. Breakfast staff whilst we were there not really engaging with customers and having to be reminded on things and I could see some guests not tipping them for that reason but food were good portions. Evening meal staff very engaging whilst we were there and we enjoyed our meal late at night. We had a problem with little sleep the first night due to a faulty and very loud water condensation system but it was sorted out quickly the next day. We bought some lovely local handmade gifts in the gift shop at the hotel. We would definitely stay again.

The staff were exceptional. Very friendly and helpful, from the front desk staff to the restaurant and bar staff. Beds very comfortable and loved window seat looking out onto the water and cruise ships. As we had not travelled in 7 years, we could not have asked for a better experience.
