Beautiful character hotel
I had to leave a review of this hotel because it was just so incredible. It’s not shiny and new, it’s lovely and quaint and full of character. The service was beyond exceptional. The area is clean and quiet, but not far from restaurants & shopping. Overall one of my favorite hotels.

All Great
Service was top notch. The room was large and modern, but the hotel still had the turn of the century charm. Very impressed

Very Good
They made an error with our credit card causing us great discomfort.

The hotel is located at the top of an extremely steep hill with excellent views, but a tough walk for most people if you plan on traveling by foot. The cable car picks up close by and it’s a short walk to many places. The lobby was once very nice, but some things were a little worn and needing update. Our room had a corner view of the city and Grace Cathedral. The room was very clean and nice. The bathroom was on the small side. Ordered a $68 bottle of champagne from room service, but with all their fees it was nearly $100. Not a huge deal, just caught me by a little surprise.

City view?
We went with a city view Jr. Suite and we looked out at a wall from across the street. We saw no city at all. Unless you are on the upper floors, you won't see the city, so don't bother purchasing those rooms. They were nice enough to more us up one floor, which was nice, but not a lot better. I think the park view rooms would be better, maybe not as large, but you would get the view you want. The pool and sun deck are for the spa patrons only on the weekend. We brought our bathing suits, but couldn't use the pool. We might stay here again because the location was great, but I wish I would have known some of these things before hand.
