The property needs a refresher. There is an ancient box spring mattress, there was no additional security lock on the door and the room could be cleaner. There was a bottle cork and dirt from previous guests on the floor, and one of the old box springs had no zip cover on it. The pool closes so early, then wasn’t accessible in the morning at the posted time. I had to knock on the office door for an unsociable employee to open the pool up. There was a mixup with online booking, so I had to pay the hotel directly, even though I’d already paid for the room. Either trust the online booking, or don’t advertise with them! If I book a room and pay for it, it is between the two businesses at that point. Casa Secoya called me at 6pm, when I was almost there, and would not check me in unless I paid a second time for the room. It was late, and I felt I had no choice, and didn’t want stress while on vacation. The next morning, the employee at the desk was not personable or helpful when asked to support with the process of getting refunded for my double payment, she couldn’t have cared less and did not even say thank you for staying, have a nice day, nothing! While this property was affordable, I would never stay here again. The key cards didn’t work well either.
