I had a very good stay at the Domus Sessoriana. It had a lot of charm being located in the old monastery of San Croce of Gerusalemme basilica. The breakfast was ok. The same options are available every morning with no variation but totally adequate. Itâs not self service( except some items)
Unfortunately it was not served on the patio with the view of the city as itâs being maintained (since January) but you are free to go and enjoy the view. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

We have used this hotel on every trip, six times, it is not the Hilton and does not have those costs but, the Hilton does not have the architecture, the Hilton is also centuries younger, it is a hotel with 1st class staff, all of whom are interested in your contentment during your stay, all go out of their way to to help with any requests so, a 1st class stay is always had.

Excellent hotel for short stay in Rome. Used to be a monastery but feels like a palace. Simple rooms but spotlessly clean. Air con worked well. Very friendly and helpfully staff, shout out to Brian and Steve. Breakfast was simple but adequate and filling. Lovely views from the breakfast terrace. Good transport links to central areas and station. Restaurants and shops close by. .

We had a great stay here, my 1st time and the 5th for my wife, great staff, nice clean rooms, a wonderful, massively architecturally stunning building, the lift is a real help, it was broken on our arrival so a big climb to our room on the 2nd floor, it was soon fixed, thank goodness so, would we go back, every time. Thank you to ALL the staff that made our stay perfect. Oh yes, a brilliant powerful shower too.đ

Great place if you are into monastery setting. Staff welcoming and cordial.
They were kind enough to switched us from an small/dark upstairs room to a friendly, bigger room in the center of the hotel. I really appreciated that.
Continental breakfast is included.
Not much to do near by so we had to go to another part of town almost every day.
The only thing I didnât like was the type of tv show played in the breakfast area, considering this is a part of a church they should be playing different show/ music church/ Christ appropriate.

Stayed at this hotel for 5 nights in March, as 2 of our party were running in the Rome Marathon (both completed it â ) & it was my birthday too! đ„ł
An interesting albeit, slightly eccentric but quite unique hotel in a converted monastery which sits alongside a nunnery & working church. Rooms located on the street side (we were in 223) are a little noisy especially if you have the window open at night, but others at the side overlook some gardens & are quieter. The rooms themselves are tad austere, with basic furnishings, sheets & blankets bedding, but clean & functional. Power sockets old fashioned but found couple of modern European type of plug sockets by unplugging TV & lamp. Main thing missing from the room is facilities for making drinks in the room. So, take a travel kettle, mugs & drink ingredients if you want teas & coffees in the room. Some vending machines for drinks & snacks in communal seating area on lower ground floor. Staff were pleasant & friendly with pretty good English. The terrace on the 4th floor was being refurbished so wasnât open, but there is another smaller terrace on 2nd floor. As a result, the continental breakfast which used to be served on 4th-floor terrace was served in a windowless room on the lower ground floor with a TV a one end showing rolling pop videos! Breakfast reasonable & comprised pastries & cakes, bread, ham, cheese, jams, cereal, yoghurt, juice, fresh fruit bowl (apples & oranges), teas & coffees, but no variety so same every day.

The fact that the hotel used to be part of church, and the adjacent part still functions as a church, makes it a unique experience. Great connection to the downtown by metro, a fantastic and famous cathedral in walking distance and a cosy park characterize the place. Special kudos go for the staff that are really nice, helpful and effective. However, the room itself is a big negative surprise. Although our quadruple room had a clean bathroom and a tv (that was it!), the room looks like a dormitory room to say the most. Four cheap beds shoved together, old and unpleasant mattrasses, torn and worn bed linen, squeaky wardrobe and dirty walls... It is bearable for a couple of days like ours but for a longer stay I would not consider it or all you wanna do is just sleep and then leave the room for the rest of the day. Well, the nights will still be unpleasant because of the old and now bad quality mattress... I must admit I am not sure if this is because of the price, I'm not that familiar with accomodation prices in Rome.

Proximity to Basilica di Santa Croce, and to the St John Lateran Basilica, transportation convenience for bus or train, quiet, few meters from a free water dispensing station, friendly staff at reception. Will definitely recommend to family and friends.

From the outside the property is spectacular, the staff are very friendly and helpful, and the communal spaces well appointed. The room however was very basic, poor furniture and dated decor.

Location over a good night's sleep
While the location was optimal for visiting Santa Croce, Scala Santa, and St. John Lateran, the beds were little more than a 2 inch mattress on squeaky metal springs. I would bring a sleeping bag and sleep on the floor for greater comfort...

Overall pretty disappointing. My bed was not comfortable and the room was old, with not even the access to the wifi. Breakfast was very limited and not of good quality
