Stayed in a cold room. Outstanding experience. The artwork in each room is fantastic.

Amazing unique experience. Got to see the Auroras from right behind the hotel (without having to sign up for their tour). They provided snowsuits and boots which was so helpful!

We stayed 1 night in one of the cold rooms and it was a fun experience. We went cross country skiing the next morning and had the best time with our guide! Highly recommend!

Highs - amazing ice hotel, wonderful main restaurant, lovely bar and adventure center, friendly staff (though too few), proximity to Sami center. Lows - crowded messy lobby, long lines, minimal amenities before or after ice hotel night, very out of date "chalet" room, general uncleanliness.

Alright hotel

Arrived a bit late because I drove in from Alta in Norway. And because I went to the Tirpitz museum and spent longer there than I initially thought I would spend there. Room was alright. Really hot, though. Luckily, the front desk gave me a fan, which I then had next to me the entire night. Got a free upgrade, which basically consisted of 2 cans of Loka water, 1 can of Coke and 1 can of Fanta Orange. And a mini bag of Ahlgrens Bilar. Lots of mosquitos in the area, so had to sleep with the windows closed. Bathroom was alright, but space between sink and tap was so small my hands wouldn't fit. Washing my hands was a bit of a pain. The toilet seat was made of wood, but a bit too small. Shower was alright, but the soaps weren't. Also: they were out of shower gel. Breakfast was really early. Which, in turn, allowed me to start my day early and also arrive early at my next location. In all, it was an alright hotel.

8/10 Very good

All of the staff here are down to earth and very helpful with answering our questions. The warm hotel is simple and clean. I like it being quiet which made our stay peaceful. The location is also close by the waters and nature always is a plus! I can always go back here to experience these one again!

Really worth it

Everything in the hotel was really nice. The staff took really care of us. Maybe one thing that could step up is the breakfast the day after. Should be more local groceries.

Amazing stay in the Cabin in the Woods

The stay in the Icehotel was amazing. It's a once in a lifetime experience. We stayed in the artsuite Cabin in the Woods which was so charming. I was also amazed at how warm the sleeping bags provided keep you. I was not cold at all through the night.

I paid $1,200 for one night’s stay for myself and my daughters. The artistry is amazing. However, the service was terrible. Nobody helps you with your bags. Nobody tells you where your room is. Nobody greets you. We had to drag our luggage all over the place trying to guess where our room was. They cater to the tours. They advertise “check in and out” times, which aren’t correct. You can “check in” but cannot take possession of your room until approximately 6pm. You can “check out” at approximately 11am, but you have to be out of your room at 8am so they can clean for tours. When asking for information, we were pointed to a QR Code and told to watch it. The resort was neat to see, but that is a considerable amount of money for one night to not be treated well. Nothing was complimentary, not even coffee in the morning. I would recommend touring the property, but I would not recommend staying. We looked forward to this stay for over a year and were greatly disappointed due to the lack of service.

Not what we signed up for.

We had no idea that the ice bar would be under construction during our stay. The ice part of the hotel is only open until 6 which also was not told. This leaves very little to no activities to do after 6 in this town during this time of the year. Very sad

Incredibly unique experience and exactly as expected! Facilities are warm and well cleaned and maintained. Because Kiruna was too warm, the hotel was actually melting when we arrived and so we got a free upgrade to Ice Hotel 365 which was very nice of them. Unfortunately in the private connected bathroom, the under sink pipe was leaking. Everything else went smoothly. They have 24/7 lobby staff so if you’re having trouble sleeping in the cold, you can sit, relax, and drink free hot lingonberry juice. Highly recommend booking activities eg Sauna Ritual or Ice Carving. It’s nicely centrally located so we walked to the Sámi Museum as well.

I had an excellent time at the ice hotel ! I stayed in a warm room! The ice rooms were exceptional to visit The hotel also allows you to rent all the required clothing, boots and gear required to do any of the outdoor activities, even if not booked through the hotel. The included breakfast was decent. My only negative feedback is that I had booked pickup from the airport and had not been on the list. I was offered a half apology and advised I must have "fallen off the list". I was lucky enough the bus driver was kind enough to let me join the bus as he was headed there anyway.
Yamini, 2-night trip

I stayed during the summer time. Property looks very run down, unkept, an eye sore. The room I stayed in didn’t have a real mattress. The thermostat was locked and couldn’t be changed, and the room was cold. There was mold or mildew in the shower area. Besides the bathroom, the rest of the room was clean as you would expect. Dining at the ice hotel restaurant is very tasty, but very expensive. Hotel is in a remote area with not much else around. The 365 ice art rooms and hotel are very cool to see. Hotel guests get into the ice art rooms for free. Overall an average experience and stay. Maybe it would be nicer during winter. Then again, some of the rooms could use a huge makeover.
Micah, 1-night trip

2/10 Poor

The staff here started out really rude and unhelpful, not explaining anything about the hotel or what to do, and ended up so horrible we missed our train. We came in early to have them call a taxi, said they did, and then ended up not calling until 10 minutes we needed to leave, so we missed the train. They were not helpful at all, management was extremely rude as if it was our fault. And help blaming the taxi company. We missed an entire day at our next destination. Beyond that, for the price this place was just not worth it. Really encourage you to skip this place, save the money and the headache, or just buy a pass to see the rooms quick.

Disneyland in the Arctic. Beauty everywhere you look. Staff lovely, but churn ‘em and burn em! Did not expect my entire flight to be going to same hotel. Very busy and people coming and going - which explains the massive hair ball in the entry of my warm room, dirty towels shoved in the closet, hair pins on floor in middle of room, shower nozzle stuck so NO SHOWER until maintenance came to fix. Staff is absolutely lovely, polished, polite, and willing to help — except for the A hole bartender in the Lounge, named Nandi or Nawaz, or something of the sort. Please note ALL OTHER SERVERS were lovely, accommodating and pleasant. The one bartender clearly didn’t want to be there, didn’t want to serve, threw soggy food on plate and threw your drinks at you. He was a complete ass and I can only imagine Ice Hotel has him back for the season because the Arctic and the elements are quite rough in winter. Basically, you are a head, and they are doing their best to get you in safely, warmly and with a smile - so can’t fault them for that. It expensive b/c they have to pay a lot of staff to take care of you. Don’t even ask about cold rooms- ridiculously priced to be cold overnight. Book a warm room and visit the art cold rooms during day - they are truly beautiful, but can’t imagine comfortable at night - unless you need to check that off your bucket list - btw, there is a warm bathroom attached to the room. But you cannot accessuntil 6pm, so don’t plan on lounging in room
