Good hotel (not great)
We had a great time! They were a bit apprehensive about kids but we had no issues. Restaurant at hotel was good. Had a kid friendly pool. Strict rules at the pool (no drinks or food). Parking a truck was an issue. Lots close but not pedestrian friendly. Beautiful location in the water tho!

Great Location
Excellent location and great check-in staff. The hotel could do with some updates. For example, the mattress sloped into the middle.The drapes left several inches between them when fully closed. Fixing both of these would greatly improve sleep experience. Otherwise a good stay.

Well-located hotel for Vancouver Island trips
We stayed here for two nights, using it as a home base to explore Vancouver Island from Nanaimo to Courtenay-Comox. While there would have been more opportunity to use all the amenities in the summer (kayaks, paddleboards, bikes, etc.), we used the pool and hot tub and enjoyed the secure underground parking. The balcony was a really good size, and would have been great to spend more time on in the summer. The mattresses seemed very sunken - not sure if they were worn out or designed to be very soft - but I would have preferred something with more support. Also, the kettle in our room wasn't working, but the coffee maker was fine. Overall we had just what we needed in this hotel (and it was quiet, as far as hotels go), and I can imagine it would be a great experience in the summer with the private beach.
