Close to Charlottenburg Palace

I enjoyed my brief stay. My only suggestion is to enlarge the shower stall. It is so small it makes it very difficult to maneuver.

Very clean

The room was perfectly clean and the bed surprisingly comfy. 2 mins walk from the Ubahn stop. A word of warning, reception closes at 8pm, not 10pm as was indicated in the information on Hotels.com.

No Phone

Extremely small bathroom. Door would only partially open because it swings into the vanity. Sink in vanity sideways because there was not room for it the proper way. I asked at reception about there not being a phone in the room. The boy at the desk stated only some of their rooms have a phone. I guess if I had a serious illness or injury, I could lay there until the maid shows up the next day. Bed surface was 10 inches off the floor. With my bad knees, it was a problem getting up from that low of a position. Nothing in the neighborhood, but a short taxi ride from Tegel.

Good hotel

Nice hotel, close to the airport but far from the city center. Not so good part is the reception closes at 8 PM ( the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen). So if you need help after 8 PM - you are on your own. Also, the phone in the room does not work, they dont do any room service. I requested towels to be replaced to the receptionist - she even told she will get it done, nobody cared to do that.

no wifi, no desk staff after 8pm

The room was as I expected, so no problem there. The issue was that the wifi was out and didn't work. I went to the front desk to address this at 8:15, only to discover they were already closed for the night. Hotels.com advertised that the front desk would be open until 10pm, but the sign on their door said until 8pm. I tried calling hotel staff, but the phone didn't work in my room either so I was completely out of luck

Good hotel for the price.

Easy to get back and forth to the airport. For Americans, be prepared, there is no air conditioning so you have to crack the windows. If you are on the street, the noise can make for a restless night. If minor traffic noise doesn't bother you, it is a great room with a balcony.

Good value and location

It's not fancy, but the rooms are spacious and have good light, definitely a good deal at the price. The kitchenette would be especially useful if you're traveling cheaply or staying longer. Just a short walk from Schloß Charlottenburg and the large park around it. The main downside if you're driving is that there's no free parking, but it wasn't hard to find a spot on the street nearby. It's also close to public transit and to the airport, so it's a good location if you're heading to a flight.

Only spoke to staff at check in & check out. But theu were polite then & they spoke english. They didn't clean the room at all during our 3 day stay. It was a decent enough room but definitely no luxuries. There was a kitchen but we didn't use it. It was a close drive to the popular areas of Berlin but there wasn't much public transportation near. A little bit of a walk away. There was however a FABULOUS little Italian restaurant called Trattoria across the street. SO GOOD! Parking was free but hard to come by, first come first serve fit into the craziness along the streets. It wasn't a bad neighborhood but not a nice neighborhood to hang around at night. I don't know that Id stay there again, but it wasn't a bad experience.

2/10 Poor

Very disappointed in this hotel

You have to arrive before 10PM or there is nobody at the front desk. Between 10PM and mid-night there's a number to phone to let you in. The room was so small that the closet door could'nt be fully opened. It was a dingy looking room which did not resemble the room shown on the hotel web site. There is a small kitchen but the fridge smelled and there was dirt on the floor. The bathroom was small but OK. There was no wake-up call service, in fact the telephone was disconnected. The advertised free wi-fi did not work. In my opinion, this is a 1.5 star hotel at most.

Does not live up to expectations

The first thing to say is that the few on-site staff I met were uniformly helpful and friendly. The hotel is also well located for public transport and in a generally quiet and pleasant area. But those are the only strong positives. In significant aspects my room was not as described in the booking. When I first went through I door I was struck by a drains smell, and I found that the toilet had been used and then left unflushed. Apart from this everything was clean. Two lights were not working, one of them the principal light in the bathroom. I notified this the first morning of my stay but found when I came back that evening nothing had been done, the response being to challenge me as to whether I had tried the right switches. On the third and last day of my stay one of the lights was repaired (but not the other) - and th repairer had left the chair he had used to stand on in place under the light with its covering removed, all for me to put back. On that third day the room was not cleaned and made up. I was rather perturbed that although there were no staff on site overnight there was no room telephone and so no way of making contact with the off-cite "night porter" in an emergency. Also in this connection, evacuation routes did not appear to be marked. All in all a pity, in that what could have been described as an entirely satisfactory hotel had been able to get the details right. As it was, not a satisfactory place to stay.

Value for Money

This apartment/hotel is good for people who want to stay for a week and longer, with a need of kitchenette. Parking can be an issue, since you need to park on the street and it can be very hard to find a spot nearby. The elevator is too slow and takes forever to come up. Location is ok, it is close to Tegel but and not the best. Front desk is there, but not 24 hrs.I might think twice to stay again at this place. It is not bad for someone on budget.

The Apartment

Great, friendly and helpful staff at reception. The apartment was reasonably spacious and comfortable. The lift is slow but hey, better than using the stairs. Parking is on the road outside but is free albeit limited by how many residents in the area use it. Two supermarkets close by. While I appreciate that it was a kitchenette we did not appreciate that there were no cooking utensils, no cutting knives except for a bread knife, no pots, no tea towel and no plug for the sink. If there are to be cooking facilities there needs to be some basic utensils. Flipping an egg with a bread knife is difficult. While it is a reasonable way out of Berlin we knew that and bought day passes on the transport system which forces you to make use and see more than the area around your hotel. The kitchen facilities really should demote it to Average.

Fine for an airport hotel

It was fine but very small and not that comfortable. Fine for a quick one-night stay near the airport.

Neat & Affordable, difficult check in after 2200!

I stayed in the hotel for a very short time, I had to leave early since my flight timings were changed. I found the hotel to very affordable, neat and clean. The restaurant also appeared to be good, though, I did not eat there. The only and big problem is that the hotel is not manned after 2200 hrs. In case you are checking in after that you may have a tough time. Though detailed directions were given I could not open the lock of the main door easily. I could not get access to the elevator at all and had to lug my luggage upto the 4th Floor at 2300 hrs! The telephone number of the night porter did not work on my mobile. All this inspite of warning the hotel well in advance of my arrival. Overall a great hotel, however, the issue I mentioned needs to be addressed!

2/10 Poor

The worst in years

The room was paid in full in advance. When I arrived directly from my flight it was 9:30pm and the front door was locked. There was a sign "Call night concierge using the phone on the next door". The phone was dead. My cell phone did not work in Germany either, so I found myself in a dark yard of a cold city (-3C) in an unknown place. A passer-by helped me to enter the building and find a key that hang in a cabinet. My room was clean, but the most important feature (Internet access) required a password that was not given to me. The phone in the room was dead too. I could not get out of the building since I did not know the code to re-enter it again, so I was trapped there. I forgot my Nook book there, nobody called me to propose to send it to me. Not a friendly place at all!

Did the job.

It was a place to lay my head at night while resting from the Christmas Markets. If I spent more than 8 hours in a hotel room, I would have been concerned. It was smaller than the pics showed and a "double bed" is two singles (with frame runners :s ) put together. It worked, and for $60CDN/night what do you want the Hyatt?

Budget Hotel

Poor hotel. If you arrive after 10pm you have to call a night operator who will give you a code to enter the back door. The room is small and bed is uncomfortable. The only thing that might have been a positive is the morning breakfast which looked good but did not have time to try it out.

Great Stay

I arrived late, like around 1030 at night, but the hotel receptionist was waiting for me at the door. She was VERY friendly and answered all the questions I had. Check in was also super speedy. Wifi was great also. I stayed in a double room, and it was also nice. However, if you're a couple, make sure you ask what type of bed it was, because my bed was two twin beds pushed together. This wouldn't be a problem usually, except that these beds had like an outer frame thing going on, so I imagine sleeping in the middle to be difficult. However, if you're like most normal couples you'll want you're own space to sleep anyways so maybe it'll be a good thing. There was a pizzeria open right across the street and the owners there were also very nice. I was able to grab a bite to eat and settle in very comfortably. I was only there for one night, so I don't know how close the hotel is to anything, but it was about 10 minutes from the airport (10 euro cab ride). Overall, I would definitely stay here again!

Clean, comfortable and friendly

Hotel staff were very accomodating and friendly. They gave advice of where to explore and provided maps of the area. The main gripe is that I requested a double bed but on arrival the room had a twin bed. The following day I reported this, they had no alternatives, but did offer a free breakfast. The following day we were told to return to change rooms; a different receptionist gave us 2 different room keys but we found them all to be the same which does leave me to wonder if they do have double beds. The twins are pushed together but do have wood inbetween, not too bad if you want some space! The wireless connection was not reaching our top room either, but was available on lower floors. The reason the scores are generally good is because our stay was not spoiled, the staff did all they could to rectify the problem and were attentive. I would return there.

This hotel should be call as Bed and Breakfast instead.I picked this hotel because it is only 8 minutes from Tegel airport and I had to be there at 4 am in the morning. The problem was nobody at the desk so I could not return the room key.The wifi was very weak from my room.

The hotel is in a very convenient location. It's no more than five minutes to the metro station and there's a bus stop at the end of the road. It's then a short journey to Berlin's main shopping area or the Tiergarten. There are quite a few places to eat nearby, as well as a small supermarket and Schloss Charlottenburg is a short walk away. The reception and other public areas of the hotel are very well-maintained and my room was spotless. Also, the little kitchenette contained everything I needed e.g. fridge, kettle, toaster, cutlery etc. A hairdryer was also provided. The gentleman who was on the front desk for most of my stay was very helpful and kind and really made a positive difference to my visit.

One night in Berlin

Clean place, Large enough for one person with all the amenities one would need. The front desk spoke perfect english and was very helpful. Nice neighborhood Grocery store across the street from the place, where one could purchase many edible things. The location is close to the airport. about a 9 euro taxi ride. The only downside was that some taxi drivers didnt want to take me because it was so close to Tegel Airport.
