Lumley Castle Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"Perfect for couples. It was quiet with beautiful surroundings. We took a walk to the river from the castle, and it was quiet as though we had the whole grounds to ourselves. The food was delicious and the room was cozy with a spacious bathroom. We were lucky as there was a wedding on and as a result, we were treated to a nighttime fireworks display! For us a 10/10. But be mindful that there is no AC in the room - that didn't bother us but might be an issue for others. Also note it's worth checking if there are events on as we didn't realize that if we had arrived earlier, we could have gone on a tour of the castle and had afternoon tea. We are looking forward to visiting again."

Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate depending on factors like the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so having some flexibility with your travel dates could help you find a better deal for your stay in a Durham hotel. If you're interested in a unique experience, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised touch and may offer good value.
