Osaka and related destinations

Between the neon-lit Dotonbori district and majestic Osaka Castle lies a city that takes food more seriously than most nations take foreign policy. The covered arcades of Nipponbashi offer everything from manga to electronics, while locals debate which street vendor makes the definitive takoyaki. Universal Studios Japan delivers theme park thrills, but the real adventure happens at Kuromon Market where vendors slice fish with surgical precision. The Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan houses whale sharks in tanks so vast you'll question your place in the universe. After dark, join salary men unwinding over kushikatsu – deep-fried skewers that demand respect for the 'no double-dipping' rule.

"The amenities were fantastic. There is the rooftop onsen with baths and showers (tattoo friendly). There is coin laundry on site (a wash is ¥700, the machine only takes ¥100 coins)and there is a Familymart directly downstairs. There is luggage transfer in the hotel reception and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Location is 5 mins walk from the subway Best and most luxurious I’ve been too. Cannot recommend enough"

Centara Grand Hotel Osaka

10/10 Excellent
"Best hotel for families with kids that we experienced in Japan because of location, amazing breakfast and room with bunk beds. We had the 4 person corner room with bunk beds for the kids. The view from the kids beds was spectacular and felt special. Bed, room, bathroom and TV were great - couldn’t be more satisfied. And the highlight of the stay was the breakfast buffet - great value - has been our favorite breakfast travel experience. We’ve stayed here twice now and had great times. We used the second floor exit to walk through Namba Parks mall to get to train station and Dotonbori and such and it was super convenient. My son and I appreciated the quick access to all the local game and card stores (5-10 min walk)."
