The best thing about Giovannina is its location as per its distance from the railway station and bus station. It's just 2-3 minutes walk. The rooms were clean and bed and bathroom linens and towels were clean. The hotel, however, is old and has the worn out look. The hotel has tea and coffee vending machines in the reception lobby and does not provide breakfast. There is a Chinese restaurant next to the hotel and the station food court at walking distance. The staff is friendly and helpful. It is definitely recommended for backpackers and tourists who are looking for a decent place in less budget.

Filthy & Dirt Ridden -PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE
Absolutely awful place and should NOT be listed on any travel website as a place to stay on vacation. This is not a hotel!!!!! It is a filthy, rundown, sweat pit and should come with a health and safety warning. Completely unclean on every level and the bathrooms available to us both private (in our room) and shared were just vile. The shower did not work and was filthy, with no more than a dribble coming out of it and was mold filled and full of limescale. Shared bathroom full of urine and faeces- shocking. We had to buy own toilet roll!1 The room was tiny, ageing with no air con but we did get a fan from what looked to be from the 1950's. The condition of the hotel is a disgrace and I certainly would not recommend this to anybody, especially women and families - this is not a place for a lone traveler or children. When we arrived the money had already been taken from my card even though there was an option of paying at the hotel - when I explained this to the incredibly rude guy on reception I was told this is normal when I questioned I had not actually authorised payment the guy all of a sudden could no longer speak English!!!!! I would not give this a one star rating - more like a minus ten rating and I will be writing to all websites listing this property as a credible and safe place to stay as it is neither. I have been to Venice many times and always stayed in Mestre but I urge anybody considering this as an option to please look elsewhere. An absolute disgrace.

I am not happy at all with the service
As they only change used towels after 3 days
One occasion I requested to change towels and one of staff told me they only change every 2 days.
When the night shift staff told me they will change the used towels in every 3 days !!!!!HOW DIRTY !!!!!!’n
How can someone use same York’s for 3days . They even gave us a portable fan that was full of dust.

The hotel was good value and handy to the railway station. It was very old but the sheets were clean. The only big problem was the smell of cigarettes everywhere inside the hotel, inside your room, on the bed, everywhere!

My main problem was with the state of the shared bathroom. The toilet and bidet were one in front of the other making it difficult to use the toilet. The shower was dirty and being faulty dribbled water, shower door was off runners. Bedroom ok apart from washhand basin falling off wall.

Excellent budget in an easy to access area
Great option just a few feet away from the train station, easy access to the main tourist areas and to the airport. Excellent staff and good essential services such as coffee and soda machines. Nearby restaurants, cafes, bars and a couple of handy supermarkets.

Never Ever Again, Absolutely Horrible, Worst Place
This was Awful and would never stay here again. I was woken up in the early hours by a Domestic Argument from above floor and it felt like Ceiling was going to come through and went on for ages. It was very Scary. The floor boards creaked and Moths and insects on Ceiling. The Rooms are very Poor and does not feel nice to be in. The Room smelt of oil as next Door to Chinese Restaurant. LNeverights in Hallway Turn off all the Time. No Wifi in Rooms. The place needs a Complete Refurbish (Horrible). Reception Person Uses Sofa in Reception as a Bed, so fast asleep and No Protection(had no Clue of Domestic Argument going on). The only plus is that it is around Corner from Railway and Bus Station and that's why I booked it. Could not wait to get out of this horrible place.

Cheap but uncomfortable.
Fine Location, close to the main train station. However the neighborhood wasn't that nice. The room only had a plastic corrigated pullover from the bathroom. A few plug sockets didn't work, the fan they gave us to try ( and fail ) to in any way cool the 34 degree heat would constantly blow a fuse and every hour or so you would have to flick a fuseboard out in the main hallway to turn it back on. This meant there was no fan while you slept. Apart from the huge brown water stain on the ceiling and the very late check in time ( advertised as 2pm but our room wasn't ready at 3 30 pm ), the room was reasonably clean. The staff were helpful enough, in that they printed our boarding passes off for us, but nothing special.

Nice location, cheap okay place.
The hotel is located very close to the main train and bus lines into venice and for the price made this a good hotel. The hotel isn't the best but for the price and location I would recommend this to others looking for a cheap place that is easy to get to and from venice. There is a restaurant below so there are some smells and noise from that but otherwise a pleasant experience.

Bad hotel, doesn't even deserve one star at all. There was hair on the bed sheets when we arrived, the floor was sticky, no WiFi in the rooms as opposed to stated in their description, no daily cleaning or change of towels, and so on. Great location to visit Venice and to grab a bus to the airport, that's the only advantage.

We needed an inexpensive overnight stay near the station, this hotel met our needs. It was very clean, comfortable, with hot water , and toiletries in a small but adequate shower cubicle+ toilet. Staff were friendly ,and spoke good English.

The hotel staff was rude and annoyed by our few questions. Would not even print our boarding passes or call a taxi for an early pick up to the airport.
