Mediocre hotel at best

Average NYC hotel. Booked a King with sofa bed, 3 adults. Received a king with chair. Had to go back to desk and was offered a rolling bed in room. Nope, I booked a king with sofa bed! Room was changed. However, a rolling bed probably would have been much more comfortable. The sofa bed was Not fit for a human. I slept in the king bed, woke up the next morning to find a pair of women’s underwear in my bed. Not mine, not my daughters. Didn’t check if they were clean or dirty! Just tossed in the garbage and didn’t report to front desk because honestly, I didn’t feel they would care. Front desk staff not the friendliest (the women). All other staff were very friendly.

Mid-week/weekend stay

It was alright. Typical TINY NYC hotel room. Not really clean - the pull out bed had stains on the cushions, we had ripped sheets, the dishes in the cabinet had food (a lot) on them but were put away anyway (gross). Room was an efficiency but the two pans available couldn’t both fit on the two burner cooktop at the same time. Took 35 minutes to boil a pan of water. Neither pan fits in the tiny sink, but there is a dishwasher. In the first few days (during the week), we called 5-6 times to request things like paper towels and toilet paper and they never showed up. Staff was super nice. Can’t beat the location.

Mostly great!

Hotel is very nice. We had a suite for my sister, daughter and two nieces. It was very spacious. The check in was a nightmare. The Indian woman at the desk was very very rude and dismissive. Said the room wasn’t ready then told us to wait in the lobby. I asked for waters while we waited. She asked if I was a Hilton Honor member. I said no. She gave me 2 waters! There are 5 in my group! We waited 35 minutes for the room. No apology no upgrade and certainly no water. The next morning we came to ask to leave our bags, and the hotel manager was very lovely and asked if she could give us points. My niece is a member and happily accepted. They held our bags all day and then let us use the bathroom before we left! Overall a good experience. I would say maybe tell the Indian woman at the check in that customer service isn’t really her line of work.

Extremely Well placed for sightseeing the whole of New York. If you don’t mind walking you can access everything from Central Park to the south of the island on foot. Close to the Hudson River for the man made beaches, high line walk or the food hall in the piers.

Great location, Great service, and clean rooms

Homewood Suites was very clean. The room were nice and there was not a long wait for elevators. They gave you $20 if you booked a suite for the suite shop which was a nice touch. Check in and check out was fast. Breakfast was provided and it was nice. The hotel was within walking distance of Time Square. I would stay here again.

Great staff. Need improvements

> My stay started off great—the staff was friendly, and the hotel had a nice atmosphere. However, there were several issues that affected my experience. The room was only cleaned once during my stay, there was no shampoo or conditioner provided, and the shower door was barely hanging on. The biggest problem came on my second-to-last night when the heating system alarm went off in the middle of the night. The heater shut down, leaving the room cold. I reported it in the morning, but when I returned after a full day out, nothing had been fixed. I had to request assistance again, and a technician worked in my room for two hours, constantly coming in and out, making it impossible to rest. In the end, they moved me five floors down for my last night, but the heating didn’t work there either. Once again, I had to wait for it to be repaired. To add to the frustration, the new room also lacked shampoo and conditioner, had no blackout curtains (so I had to sleep with the building lights shining in), and didn’t have enough towels. I understand that the hotel was fully booked, and the staff was doing their best under pressure—they were always kind and professional. However, the maintenance and housekeeping issues really need improvement. I hope management takes this feedback into account because the hotel has great potential.

Room and breakfast really complete. Workers were always ready to help.The location was perfect, close to everything I needed. Breakfast was delicious, with plenty of gluten-free options. However, I think the cleaning service could improve a bit, as the towels were only changed twice during my stay, and there was no kitchen paper available.Other than that, everything was excellent. I would still recommend this hotel and would love to come back!

Would stay again

The hotel was clean but there was a faint smell in the lobby. Like used mop water or something. The hotel allows pets so there was a barking dog at breakfast for 2 days which was annoying (even as a dog lover myself). The staff were polite and helpful. Breakfast was as expected. It was nice to have coffee and hot water available all day in the lobby. The room needed a new shade for the window because it looked stained but otherwise the room seemed clean. The location is pretty good. Walking distance from MSG and Time Square with a lot of food options.
