We had an excellent stay here during our time on Taha’a! The owner is very nice and takes time to help organize anything for your stay. They have a restaurant on site that provides breakfast (fruit, breads, coffee) and dinner (3-course meal with prepared local fish dishes) for an extra charge. The dinners were very good, you can head up the restaurant early for a cocktail and live music on Fridays. There is a dock right out front where you can snorkel - we saw tons of different fish, coral, and an 8’ manta ray! Teiho is on site and will help organize anything you need (scooters, taxis, tours, etc) and is very helpful! They let us store our luggage while we waited for the ferry to Bora Bora. The accommodations have everything needed, but could use some updates and some TLC. Even still, my husband and I agreed that we would absolutely return because of the amazing team and location!

This is a beautiful spot. They have kayaks you can borrow to go to the coral gardens about a mile from the property. The owners are lovely and inviting. It’s possible to book breakfast or dinner and they have a bar. Quiet, charming and quaint.

We stayed at this property for our first trip to French Polynesia: The property owner and family: friendly, attentive, considerate, welcoming. Damien went above and beyond during our stay. We arrived at the property by mere coincidence that the taxi we inquired for help recognized the name of the property. Immediately calls Damien, and Damien arranged a ride with the taxi driver for a reduced fee. Arrived at the property earlier than the check-in hour, and we were accomodated quickly. Damien inquired about our plans during our trip and long story short, i ended up canceling my pre-arranged excursions for the recommendations and arrangements made by Damien. Yes, he called and made the arrangements for us. The staff: absolutely friendly, and welcoming. The cleanliness: 4/5. Nothing the property could really do, its from the environment. Lots of crabs, lizards, bugs, mosquitoes, theres nothing we can do from keeping them out of the room indefinitely. Around the property: Rhum factory/distillery are close by, 10-15 minute walking distance, vanilla plantain, pearl farm, coral garden all on the island. 10 minute drive to local markets, mini shops, and pharmacies. The ammenities: ac, mini kitchen, working stove, mini fridge, armoire, tv, shower and toilet. VIEW is incredible. The wifi is a solid 1/5 (at the restaurant than its a 4/5) bikes, kayaks, snorkeling gear and restaurant If given the opportunity to return, we would absolutely reach out to Damien and Karine. Maururuu!

Best Place to Stay on Taha'a
Wonderful accommodations across from the water and a short walk to the distillery and floating bistro. The staff is terrific and the on-site restaurant was delicious!

Charming and well located hotel. Damien was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast and dinner at the hotel was really good. Damien makes really good cocktails. We had an excellent stay. The rooms were very well equipped and organized, good bathroom and kitchen area. The must: the hotel is located close to the distillery and pearl farm but more importantly an amazing snorkeling spot where we could see manta rays ! Just amazing. Highly recommend.

The new owners, Damien and Karen, are so kind that we left feeling like part of the family! With some advance notice they were able to organize a water taxi from the airport and had great recommendations for activities during our stay, I highly recommend the shark snorkeling with lunch on the motu. They also provide bikes and kayaks free of charge to visit the near by town/pearl farms and paddle across the lagoon to coral gardens. If you choose to just relax at the property, the excellent meals and air conditioned rooms, along with the snorkeling from their private dock will keep you content! After a two month trip around all the Society Islands, this was my absolute favorite place to stay and I can’t wait to return again one day!

Paradise!
What a fabulous experience! The rooms were clean and very nicely decorated ...and spacious enough to spread out and get comfortable. Dinners prepared by the very gracious hosts were spectacular, and with lovely presentation. The hosts arranged our transfers so everything was seamless. But the location was really our main reason for staying here, and that could hardly have been more perfect. We used bikes (provided) to pedal to a nearby grocery for food to picnic at the coral gardens which are straight out from the hotel. Then we kayaked (kayaks also provided) over and spent a full day there. Our second day we rented scooters and toured the island. Everything about our time here was simply fabulous.

Disappointed in La Perlede Tahaa
We booked this as there was very few available rooms in Tahaa or Raiatea after our sailing trip. It was only non-refundable & with Covid tests required to travel there, seems unfair to only book non-refundable rooms. The website for La Perle stated they had 24 hour transportation from the Raiatea airport, but they do not. In fact it is very difficult to get there and the cost of transportation is 3-4 times the cost of the room. It takes a long time as well (1/2 day) and not just "15 minute boat ride" as some of the ads say. The person at hotel helping us spoke mostly french so communication was difficult. She kept trying to sell us tours and never answered how we get keys since there is no front desk. We chose to charter our boat for an additional night vs stay here or take up our entire stay with traveling to and from the hotel & a very large expense. We are very disappointed that this bit of information about transportation is not clear for the traveler booking this location. I think Hotels.com should require this from the hotel or remove them as an option. It would be nice to get a refund as well. I did email the hotel and tell them we would not be staying there in advance. I did not cancel on the Hotels.com website and I figured I would get my points since I had to pay for the room.

2/10 Poor

Difficult to arrange RT transport to location
We ended up not staying at this hotel and paying for addl night on our catamaran charter. The website amenities list airport shuttle available 24 hrs; however once we booked we were advised only two departure times: 6:45am & 4pm. Our flight was 5pm. Transport is primarily by car then by boat to RFP airport-group of 4 approx. $160. No direct boat ride-private charter $250. Communication with the hotel was unclear and sometimes in French making it difficult to understand what was being proposed. No front desk person and never told how we would check in & find our rooms.

2/10 Poor

There was no AC in our room. Mosquitoes were abundant. We paid far too much not only for the too small room but also for the meals and transport there and back. Once you are here you are captive to their transport - $160 round trip, meals $70 plus drinks. The new owner is well known among islanders as being difficult and dishonest. Stay away.

Tahaa Island
The bungalow Tiare we stayed was very nice, clean and comfortable. The small beach area and dock across the road was excellent for swimming and snorkeling. The host were very accommodating. It is a short kayak paddle over to the coral gardens. Definitely a place we plan to stay at again

This is one of the best places I have had the pleasure to stay at anywhere in the world. The grounds are gorgeously landscaped, with options of single bedrooms with shared kitchens and bathrooms (in which I stayed) or more fully equipped facilities.A restaurant offering breakfast, dinner, and beverages lies between the group structure and the independent cottages. Immediately across the small street is a beachfront deck with lounge chairs and a short dock providing access to excellent snorkeling. Kayaks and bicycles are available for rental. Every element of this property is beautifully thoughtful, down to the chairs and tables that reflect the beauty of the land, sea and sky. This beauty is surpassed only by the loveliness of the hosts. So immensely generous, going far out of their way to accommodate a single traveler with dire food allergies with gracious kindness that never made one feel burdensome, even when one was. The sweetness of this family would make this a location worth staying even if the location was less serene. It's a long journey here from my home, but one I hope to make soon in the future, just to return here.

Correct experience, extras too expensive
Backpackers rooms are small but in good condition and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay overall but felt that every additional service was very expensive. For example: highest price of all islands for scooter (8,500 XPF), beers (800 XPF, with no bar area - as much expensive as at Intercontinental...), kayak (you can only book the full day). No one mentioned that dinner had to be booked in advance, so we had to pay 2,500 XPF per person for an average frozen meal, eaten in the backpacker area (a corridor with tables) with not enough rice for 6 people... last example, we had to pay the transportation to the closest boat station (5min drive), when the owner was going there to drop his wife anyway... everywhere else, this service would have been free.
