Best place to stay near La Manzanilla
We’ve been to Boca de Iguanas many times before over a 35 year period because it has the best bodysurfing beach and we’ve eaten at the restaurant at Chantli Mare several times… it’s so good! This was our first stay at Chantli Mare and it was delightful… the staff, the room, the ambiance are all delightful. For our last dinner there, we asked Greg, their notable chef, to cook us a couple of lobsters in any way he thought appropriate and his preparations were fabulous! And they even let us plug in our electric/gas hybrid car for free. A beautiful place and fantastic staff.

Staff, food, service, setting, view, beach was wonderful. We loved having our small dog with us. Our room’s deck was not as nice as the other rooms had yet they were the same price. This boutique hotel did not disappoint. We recommend and hope to return.

Beautiful small boutique hotel. Only 6 rooms and so peaceful. Beach is flat so good for walking. The staff was so friendly and attentive. Food was fabulous. The owner and his wife are on site so much fun to talk too! The only thing I can find wrong is the bed was too hard. No problem I had my egg crate! Plan on another say in the next few months. You can also enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner on the beach without staying there.

Hidden Gem
Chantli Mare is an increasingly rare gem on Mexico’s Costalegre. It’s secluded, set on a long sandy beach perfect for swimming. The food is amazing and reasonably priced and the staff is friendly and eager to please. The village of La Manzanilla is 10 minutes away by car for groceries, souvenirs, and feet-in-the-sand beach restaurants serving delicious fish and shrimp dishes.

El lugar muy agradable, la gente del staff muy amable. Un par de cosas a mejorar: decía que el hotel era de no niños y si había varias familia con niños, por lo cual no es un hotel de descanso. También tiene el servicio de cocina, muy buena por cierto, excelente calidad y sabor. Pero llega mucha gente externa a comer al restaurante, y nuestra experiencia fue que los atendían antes que a los propios huéspedes.
