New facilities. Keyless entry to property and room. Dirty shared toilets and bathroom. Cheap. Good bedding, updated interior. Privacy curtains all around each bunk for privacy.

I stayed for 1 night (across 2 days) and overall had a mixed experience. The digital key system made coming and going really convenient, and the shared lobby area was great – spacious, comfortable, and with a lovely view.
However, the bathrooms let the experience down a bit. The soap and body wash dispensers were empty the whole time I was there. I had brought my own, so it wasn’t a big issue for me personally, but I didn’t see anyone checking or refilling them during my stay. If I had been staying longer, I definitely would have flagged it to staff, but it was a bit disappointing.
The dorm itself was fine, but unfortunately, some other guests were really noisy – coming in late, going in and out past 10pm, rummaging through bags, and turning the main lights on while others were clearly trying to sleep. Not necessarily the hostel’s fault, but something to be aware of.
With a few small improvements, this place could be a really solid option.

Only two very small shower cubical’s available.I'm not a big person but anyone slightly portly would have great difficulties. Staff totally disinterested. In fact vacant is a word that springs to mind to describe them.

I Stayed there just for one night for my best friend. I was surprised it was close to her dorm and the staff there were nice. There was only one roomate but she was welcoming. I hope to visit her again next time.

The cafe is pretty ordinary, (poor service, cash only, simple menu), although it is actually open on Sunday morning, which, this being Canberra, is essential. Other youth hostels offer a simple free, self-serve breakfast, which suits me much better - I'd much prefer that.
