Not the best for winter accomodations
A winter stay in this cabin was not a good choice. Snow blew in under the door, floor heating units not great and carpet frayed and furniture very old. Beds squeaky and soft. The sheets and towels were clean and the breakfast had some nice muffin choices. The hotel lobby was clean and tidy and decorated for the holidays nicely. Really pretty view of the frozen lake.

The room smelled, it was dirty and the towels had stains. The water was hard and smelled so awful. The beds had stains and were not comfortable. The “breakfast” was a joke. So so disappointed.

It was our first stay. Like the location, like the quiet. Very homey, comfy feel. The only meal we ate was the breakfast and that was disappointing not to have hot breakfat options other than waffles. However not a deal breaker forbus amd would absolutely stay again and recommend.

Liked the lake. Cabin was in very poor condition. Especially for over $200 a night. Peeling paint, dirty carpet, couldnt sit on sofa because it was so saggy. I undertand its a very old cabin. But they should still keep up the conditions. Or drastically refuce the price. Ruttgers has a strong history and presence in the community. They should do better maintenance.

The view is so peaceful and having a fire near the beach was really wonderful. The shower seemed to have some issues, the water wouldn't drain so we had to take take quick showers in shin deep water. It was great and plan to go back more often.

It was very good except the water pressure in our room in the main lodge would suddenly and there would be no water coming out of shower or sink. Happened a couple of times. Told management and they would have had us change rooms but we were leaving early the next day so declined.
