This was a guest house that was very clean with beautiful and clean rooms, daily housekeeping and safe place with secured entrance. The staff Bruno and Hillary welcomed us at the check in and provided helpful information. My husband and I enjoyed the short walking distance to many restaurants, Gelato stands and shopping areas as well as Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Parthenon, Museums, churches, the River and many other site seeing areas. We took uber to Colosseum and Vatican City. Over all a great stay and we recommend this place especially for the location and price.

Trying to stay positive

The Hotel was amazing and the staff very accommodating. Just a couple of gripes . They forgot to give me the code for the gate, and there were work men drilling holes next door. Apart from that I enjoyed waking up to the sound of a hammer drill, and enjoyed talking to strangers at 3 am in the morning when I had to miss a nights sleep because I couldn’t get into the hotel.

Stay was great. Check in was after hours and easily explained. Room was spacious for being in the middle of Rome. Metro station is very close. Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps both a short walk. My only issue with the room was the shower. It is small and is a fairly large step up from the floor.

The location is very comfortable. You can walk to the Termini and to other objects like Spanish step, Trevi(10 min). Even 30 min walk to Trastevere. The rooms aren’t that good. You can hear everything while you’re in the room and everything going on and other rooms. The little old man at the front desk didn’t really wanna talk to me because I didn’t speak Italian. Hard to ask questions. No Wi-Fi in the room. The location is good. Great location!! Considering Rome is a big city, it’s located close to some tourist attractions (10-15 mins walking) such as Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps & Piazza del Popolo. We loved our staying at this hotel. Considering the high prices around this area we found a gem of place. Kind confusing doing the Check- In so make sure to confirm your reservation and arrival before you get there. We had to wait 15-20 mins outside the property waiting for someone to open the Door and let us get in so we had to explained we got a reservation there. The City Tax (€60) in CASH kind suspicious but we had not option. It’s a good option to stay and enjoy Rome for a few days.

A Star Inn is more like a serviced apartment than a traditional hotel, with no front desk or on-site staff. The location is excellent, within walking distance of most major Rome attractions, plus plenty of restaurants and activities nearby. The room was clean, tidy, very quiet, and serviced daily. The decor was also nice, with furniture that felt authentically Italian. However, there were some issues. The room didn’t match the booking - we paid for a garden view but faced a wall and part of another building, so there was effectively no view. Check-in is self-service, which worked fine as instructions were clear, but there’s no one on-site if needed. Transparency around costs was poor. The booking listed city tax as €30 but we were charged €42. Despite confirming a late check-in in advance, there was no mention of a fee despite many conversations of planning with the property manager. On day two we found a €30 charge left in the room, which we paid to avoid issues, but it felt unfair and poorly communicated. The room also got cold in the evenings. The sheets and blanket were very thin and the heater didn’t work. Facilities felt limited. No iron is provided, and no tea/coffee in the room (breakfast is on request). Overall, good location and cleanliness, but lacking transparency and basic amenities.
