My daughter got a sliver in her foot with socks on as soon as we arrived. Through our stay in our cabin we all got huge slivers in our feet. We informed the front desk and all they said was sorry to hear that. We left our housekeeping list on our door as everyone does and we did not receive the items we needed restocked. My husband had to go to the front desk to ask for our items and when they were brought to us the staff was very unfriendly. The amount of money you have to pay to stay at halcyon is crazy so the service should be top notch and I shouldn’t have to dig slivers out of my families feet while I am trying to have a relaxing weekend.

Nice Autumn Getaway
Went for Autumn getaway. Resort was clean and quiet. We rented a cabin, perfect for 2 people. Hot spring were excellent. We brought our own food for the most part and I was a bit disappointed to find that there was not a microwave in the room (the bar fridge had ample space) so it made warming up our premade meals difficult. My wife was not impressed that they supplied “2-1 shampoo/conditioner” separate products, so bring your own if you have long hair. Overall, a nice stay and I would definitely go back.

The cabin was perfect, food was amazing, however there is no breakfast or lunch option in the restaurant anymore, just a cafe with muffins bagels etc until appetizers start at 3. Glad I brought food. We waited two hours for our dinner the one night, we watched others get seated after us and leave before we even got our food. We ordered burgers, nothing crazy. Server was not on it and if we didn’t ask we probably would have been forgotten.

We ve been going to Halcyon for years and every year there is some big change. This years changes in staffing and rules are probably by far the worst it’s been. The pools looked very dirty and the spa did not feel like a relaxing oasis that you’d expect for the prices. Our girls at the spa were lovely as people but the atmosphere felt dirty and off. The beds were super uncomfortable and the blankets looked very old and not up to spa standard. The facility was okay but I think they let anyone and everyone into the pools now. We were there for a couple nights and after the hot springs we left feeling everything but relaxed. It was VERY noisy, screaming children everywhere and very intoxicated people. I wouldn’t come here ever again if I was looking to relax. For the prices of the night stays I’d rather take my business to sparkling hills. The cabin was well kept and very large bathrooms. We were very happy with our cabin but that was pretty much it.
