Water leaking

We were told that we would be reimbursed for half of our stay. The room was somewhat dingy, and at around 3:30 a.m., the fire sprinkler in the bathroom started leaking, soaking all of our belongings. We were then moved from an ocean view room to a semi-ocean view room. Although we were told it was an upgrade, the only real difference was that the new room was larger because it had two beds instead of one.

Overall a good experience

The hotel was pleasant overall, and I would recommend it despite a few issues. One major drawback was the thin ceilings, which allowed significant noise from the room above us. We were woken up on both nights of our stay—on the first night from 3:30 AM to 7:00 AM, and on the second night from midnight to around 1:30 AM—due to very loud guests upstairs. This was quite disruptive. On a positive note, the staff working Friday and Saturday were friendly and accommodating, which enhanced our experience. However, the staff member on duty Sunday morning was noticeably different. He came across as unfriendly and unwelcoming, and it felt like he wasn’t suited for a customer-facing role. It would be great if the hotel could ensure a consistent level of friendliness across all staff. Despite these challenges, I still found the stay enjoyable overall and would consider returning in the future.

We went because it was close to the beach. My husband wanted to try out his surf pole. We also did some fishing at San Clemente Pier. It was a great day.

Would stay stay again if they updated it.

Front desk super nice. Room needs updating. Housekeeping aside the walls, doors were damaged. Arrived to a very dirty room: floor, cabinets, shower. Had to request a cleaning. Breakfast was ok. Waffle maker, cereal, coffee, pastries, oatmeal packets, boiled eggs, milk & OJ. No laundry. Parking fee $10/day.

Birthday Trip

We were celebrating my husband’s 85 th birthday with a trip to Dana Point. We were very happy with the comfort, view and spaciousness of our suite. We had a lovely ocean view, and the furnishings were very nice and the king bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was very adequate and consisted of hot and cold cereal, waffles, hard boiled eggs, fruit yogurt and pastry.

Good room for the price. It is a value hotel

The property layout was quite weird. We booked the room with ocean view but when we checked in there was not one available. The gentleman who was working was very nice and he gave a 2 bedroom with Queen beds, which is what we kept for 3 nights. The breakfast was underwhelming with just waffle and some cereal along with milk and coffee and some danish. The hot tub had jets barely working although the water was hot.

Black mold, rust, and 8am construction

The shower had black mold and brown mildew, the deck faces directly across at the other decks - you have to stand at an angle to see the ocean, the deck rails are rusted out and unsafe looking, and they decided to start construction (sawing and hammering) about 5 feet from my door at 8am. The most disappointing hotel experience maybe in my lifetime. They couldn't even be bothered to replace a $20 microwave full of rust. I transferred to another hotel.
