Good but definitely government
Nice place, appeared a little military style barracks but clean and serviceable. Pull out couch was not real comfortable. Bed was fine. Breakfast buffet was good but added charge.

Awesome except for stairs
Staff was wonderful and everything was clean. Only thing not good was being on lower level and having to climb stairs.

2/10 Poor

Don’t stay here
Terrible experience. Room reserved 2 months in advance wasn’t available. No elevator for handicapped individuals. Nice traveler swapped their room with ours so we didn’t have steps. Front desk totally messed up reservation at that point, unbeknownst to us. We had at least 10 sets of room keys that didn’t work. When we came back to our room Friday we were locked out again. Front desk said they had reserved our room for another guest and we needed to move. We didn’t and when we came back that night we were locked out again. 3 more sets of keys. Rooms are very outdated, carpet is filthy, no ice maker - had to go to the restaurant, when they were open for ice, front desk offered no assistance and didn’t care how unhospitable they had been. Offered us a card for sales management to discuss their ineptness who were not available until the following week. Rates were more than $40 higher than my booked and reserved rate. This stay was awful. I would never recommend. Andy Beshear needs to get involved in this State run catastrophe.

Nice stay but no in room WiFi
Nice area and nice view of the lake and marina. Only issue was WiFi access did not work in the room you had to go to the lobby for access. Also no elevator for access to the even number rooms.

Fantastic Lodge!
A wonderful find! The property grounds are stunning, the lodge is lovely, warm and welcoming! The pool is regulation and the perfect temperature! Every detail is well-maintained, beautifully clean, comfortable beds. I've not enjoyed a stay this much in ages. And, the price can't be beat for the quality. I hope i get to return one day...

8/10 Very good

We enjoyed the lake view and paved walking path along the lake. The breakfast buffet was very good. The beds were comfortable. The room was clean for the most part, however, there were a couple of dead stink bugs in the room and the toilet stool seemed to be a bit loose. It would rock and make a "thunking" noise when a person got up.

State Park Cabin
We stayed in a 1 BR cabin. The exterior had been redone. Kitchen was very basically stocked with pots, pans, plates etc. Some had been used for some time. A sharp knife would have been very useful. No place to recycle, everything went to the trash. Furniture was clean and functional but one chair and the kitchen table would wobble back and forth. Bed is queen size and lumpy. Bathroom is basic, but the water is hot and there is plenty of it. Everything was quite clean. No maid service or room service. Fresh towels require a trip to the registration desk for the exchange. Cabins are some distance from the main lodge and the restaurant is located there. Parking slot for our cabin was behind it, so a walk across an area that is sort of covered with grass is necessary. Would have been very muddy if it had been at all wet. A car is essential. Food quality is about that of Denny's but the menu is much smaller. There are a few places to eat within a 10 mile radius, but everything is simple and nothing is fancy. Small grocery store in nearby town, but any serious shopping for supplies means a trip to Paducah. Due to the time of the year (October) the pool was drained and dry.
