Lead is a quietly cool town. There are several good places to eat like the Sled Haus and Lewies. There are also some exceptional drinking establishments like Greenfield Pub, Dakota Shivers Brewery and Jailhouse Taps.

We like this little town and its cozy atmosphere with bars and restaurants in very old buildings.. and it's quiet if you want a break from busy Deadwood.

We ate at Lasagna Mountain for dinner and That Place for breakfast and coffee and were impressed with both. The main street through Lead is pretty sweet.

Lead had some wonderful restaurants very close to our hotel. Also, we took our side-by-side up to Lead and they have some wonderful trails. We had no idea Lead had all this to offer!

Nice compared with Deadwood because there are more things than casinos
"The bed was extremely comfortable. The Stampmill restaurant next door made for a delicious dinner. I will be staying here again in the future. The Inn was fully booked and yet I didn't hear anything from other rooms at night. The staircase up to the second floor has a flight of 24 steps. No elevator, but the Inn has all the historic charm."
