The Code Hotel, Rome

We had an amazing time at the Code hotel! The service was by far the best we had in our 3 weeks in Italy (we spent 7 nights in Rome) - in fact, we had a very early morning one day that meant we had to leave the hotel by 6:30 AM, which is before breakfast service, so they prepared bagged breakfast for us to take with us on our tour! The room was impeccable, and the location was fabulous - you are within walking distance of all the major landmarks, and literally half a block from the Spanish Steps. The only thing to note is that the restaurant and bar aren't open in the evening, so that was a bit of a bummer, and it would have been great to have bar service on the rooftop terrace as well, but otherwise, a fantastic stay. I'd stay there again in a heartbeat!

The hotel is still undergoing renovations, although out of sight. The spa is not finished. When asking about spa or massage, we were referred to a sister Hotel for a price rather than a mire local service. Our room had no external window to the street, but instead a door to a private courtyard (6x8). Sounds wonderful, but felt like a fire trap. The door (old) to the courtyard was rattling and annoying, but could be easily fixed. Although one elevator was not working, the hotel had two, do it was not a problem. When the hotel finished its renos, it will be very nice with the spa included. Carpeted walls in the hallway did a great job of cutting down noise, and the staff were very pleasant and helpful.

Nice hotel, clean, helpful friendly staff, great location, good selection of hot/cold/coffee /juice at breakfast. Made us espresso/cappachinos etc. Reguested gluten free items when booking and they had a whole plate of treats/bread ready each morning.

Hotel was very clean and was in the heart of Rome. Staff was very nice and the breakfast buffet was very good.

Really good hotel for the cost.
