Worst experience ever. We paid a fortune for a suite in the tower (high flour with strip view) and when we came to check in they gave us a suite in 11th flour. After a long negotiation they finally gave us a suite on 22nd flour (still not what we paid for) and when we arrived to our suite, both sinks of the bathroom blocked and it took them 2 days to send someone to fix them. That is not all, this is our 3 night in the hotel and we kept begging for room service and still no one showed up. Everytime we talk to them they say we will send someone shortly and no one comes

I don’t write reviews as often as I’d like, but I think if you’re thinking of staying at the Rio, it’s worth sharing my experience: First of all, I did book last minute and arrived on Christmas Day. I had never stayed at the Rio but I was surprised at how cheap the rooms were so we decided to give it a shot! I’m talking like $40/night, cheap! However, they do charge high resort fees so those fees ended up costing way more than the room itself. Upon arrival, we had to wait 30 minutes in a long check in line. They have the kiosks but those weren’t helpful to us. We tried checking in on the kiosk and even though it was already 10pm, it said our room wasn’t available so we ended up in the long line. When I finally reached the counter, I was told they were out of double queens, which is what I booked, and that they could only offer me a king bed with a rollaway bed. Mind you, we are a family of 4, but she assured me 2 people fit on the rollaway bed - not true. One of my kids ended up in bed with us and the other slept on the rollaway. The room we got was outdated but at least the size was ok, especially for a family of 4. The other very important factor for us is food. All restaurants at the Rio close pretty early, either 10pm or 11pm so good luck finding good food late at night if you stay here. The only thing open from 9pm-5am is a pizza place. We ordered a pepperoni pizza which was ok, and 2 single slices which were cold. We couldn’t eat them. We won’t be staying here again.

Stayed here for a post Christmas vacation with family when we heard that this place was recently renovated. Stayed in the Impanema tower as it’s the tower with the renovated rooms as of right now. For the positives, the renovated rooms are great! We stayed in a two queen with connecting rooms and they were spacious, clean, and very much new! The pull out couch was especially helpful for a large family. For the negatives, the place was still under construction so there

We arrived and checked in - Room 2001. Our room was filthy. They said there were no other rooms and they would send someone to clean up the trash and clean the room. The person arrived and said that no one was available to clean the room until after shift change and told us to go back down and get a new room. Were left in limbo, Left to go to a show without showering or getting ready as we weren't sure if we were coming or going, Came back. Still prior occupant's trash in room but bed had been made. Still drinks splashed on wall. No lanpshade on one side of bed and broken light. Drapes didn't work in bedroom. Bidet toilet handle not attached , toliet next to bidet non operational. Carpet frayed, and dirty, not vacuumed, tape on walls from celebration signs, holes in mirror where wires showed through. Room otherwise would have been exceptional dure to view. But given that we were there only for an evening and couldn't enjoy it at all. This really should not be rented out at all with the name Hyatt attached. It was worse than years ago when I stayed on Fremont street as a 20 something. I do have photos if someone cares. I don't want to post them here.

This hotel is old, it smells, the walls are thin you can hear everything. The toilet sounded like it was going to break every time you sat on and off of it, the facuet didn’t work, the shower was dirty and the bathroom door looked like a dog had clawed and chewed it.
