Comfortable but pricey
It was a mixed bag. The hotel is a bit dated. Feels old school LA but forgotten. Quiet hotel which is nice and staff are professional, nice, and friendly. The room was extremely spacious and beds were comfortable. But they charge for everything. $50 a night for valet when there’s plenty of parking. Plus a resort fee. And optional $20 fee for borrowing a microwave during the stay. Expect to spend a lot. That said, breakfast at restaurant was delicious. I’d recommend it.

Read this before making a choice
I chose this location because they advertise it as having EV charging. After checking in I was told they only had Tesla chargers, and on top of that billed me $50/nt for parking. For a "non-smoking" hotel the room I was assigned smelled like a geriatric smokers' lounge (and the powet outlet didn't work). After complaining they moved me to a new room which was better. The bathroom fan sounded like a gas engine windblower - could use some upgrades. Overall it's not very "Luxe" as the name implies, and I regret spending $50/nt on parking, plus a $34/nt resort fee, on top of the $250/nt I spent on the base rate.

The room had that terrible smell of cleaning solvents that gave the room an uncomfortable stench... The room felt underfurnished and just noyt the kind of space I wanted to spend any time in... TV was small for the scale... and only hand towels in the shower - hanrdly enough towel to dry myself.

We stay here because it’s close to UCLA. But there are a few things I don’t like. 1. Shower water does not get hot. Its lukewarm. 2. They play music throughout the hotel as well as outside from 9am to 9 pm. 3. The walls are too thin in the rooms. You can hear everything your neighbor is doing. 4. They charge a resort fee though limited services.

Layout is ridiculously awkward with the hotel split in half. They have the odd golfcart or car ferrying people up and back, but made things painful. The gym was also non-existent due to a refurb that was not communicated. They had moved a couple of items outside by the pool, but with the weather being over 30 degrees by 7am, it was way too hot to use!

We like staying here - the location and staff are great. The Vista room did not look as pictured on Expedia or Luxe’s website… it was dark with an older design. The shower wasn’t pictured either and it took a huge step-over to get into the shower/raised tub which was a hazard. We thought we were upgrading from the Jr Suite to Vista this time, or at least would be comparable, but the room did not meet expectations.

I booked months in advance and specifically needed two beds in my room. When we arrived to check in, reception informed us that due to a toilet problem, they had only a room with one bed. I’m a very light sleeper and husband snores so was very disappointed. They offered a cot/rollaway bed which they delivered but it came only with sheets and no bedspread/comforter. There was only a wool blanket in closet. Blanket was scratchy, heavy and rollaway bed was very uncomfortable and creaky/noisy. Main bed in room also was very noisy as it creaked every time I moved. Room was facing street and there was a lot of street noise.I got very little sleep both nights Electrical outlet on nightstand was not compatible with my iPhone charger. Tried to get a quick bite to eat in bar before an event but only one person working there so we gave up and had to order room service which was rather slow. Staff overall was nice/friendly. Parking fee of $49 per day to park our car seemed high plus needed to tip every time we went out as the valets had to get our car. Pool was kind of far from our room so we never made it up there. Had not realized hotel had two separate buildings. We got the older more worn building. Decor was a bit dated and dreary in room. I would not recommend it.

Motel Quality, Resort prices.
This property has so much potential, but unfortunately, they have spent all their effort on the lobby. The rooms immediately make you feel like you are in a motel and smell like them too. The dinginess, the smell, the awkward use of space, and the micro shower are all not worth the $400+ nightly price tag.
