First Rate Accommodation next to Train Station

Highly interesting things to see and do in the lobby area (chess! books!), as well as the art and historical lithographs adorning the walls in hallways and in our room. Wonderful accommodations. And so close to the railway station and fun restaurants, including The McGregor Bar.

10/10 Exceptional

I was able to leave my bags when I arrived a little early which was nice. The lobby is beautiful and the room was comfortable.

Room was ok, but theyput us in a smaller room than what was available for our stay. Did offer to move us after we asked but would have been a day later so ot worth it to us to repack etc.
Howard, 5-night trip

Super cute place right by train station. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Comfy bed with large bathroom.
Kristin, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

A lovely centrally located property conveniently located next door to the train station. Suffered from a broken elevator for the duration of our stay, which was tremendously inconvenient.
Agatha, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

The hotel has great atmosphere and the location is very convenient
Barbara, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

Hotel is ok for an overnight stay and due to its proximity to the train and bus stations is well placed. However the furniture in our room was in poor condition and the cooked breakfast was not good value. In general it all felt a bit sad. Possibly stay at Premier Inn or similar next time.

The hotel and staff were fantastic. Would stay there again value for money

Needs some attention

Not good value for the price. If The King visited they would probably lose their “Royal” tag. Expensive and broken down. Cracked tiles in the bathroom floor. Towel heater in disrepair. Coffee bar not open in the morning.

Towel heater broken

A ROYAL Location

We selected this property due to its location to the train station. Close to everything we wanted to see and do. The breakfast was wonderful. We had one dinner at the hotel and it was excellent. I would have rated the entire property excellent except the lift wasn’t working and we climbed a lot of stairs with luggage. Other than that - I’d stay again
Lori-Dawn, 2-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

We always stay at the Royal Highland. It's a beautiful old hotel right in the middle of Inverness.
Derick, 1-night trip

2/10 Poor

Made a mistake on the date while booking. Locked in—asked hotel and Expedia for mercy….no mercy offered.
Paul, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Grand old hotel with magnificent staircase. We enjoyed the breakfast, afternoon tea and cocktails in lobby. It is right beside the train station and very convenient location to catch bus to airport
Brenda Lee, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Nice hotel but could do with updating and walls are thin between rooms
Keith, 4-night trip

4/10 Fair

Convenient location. Nice lobby/lounge. Very, very little parking. If you don't find a spot in front (8 maybe?) you are parking in a public lot off property. The safe one is not the closest one. The bed we had was really uncomfortable. The pillows were flat and very firm. The windows opened - but there was no screen. The elevator was a lesson in patience waiting for it... And then an exercise of faith that it would work.
David, 2-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Traditional hotel with traditional values.
Sandra, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Clean classic hotel. A bit pricey and breakfast is extra. Receptionist polite but didn't give a warm Scottish welcome. Large comfy beds ensure a great night's sleep. UHT milk (but no chiller in room so have to accept this) and only enough tea/coffee for 2 cups each per night. Limited beverage selection with only tea/coffee. No hot chocolate nor fruit teas. Fab location if you're travelling by train as right next door to station.
