Amazing! Cosy! Unique!

We stayed for a quick night stop half way through France. We picked this place because looked interesting and glad we did. Place was amazing. It was different than boring hotel rooms. It was very comfortable, very clean and cosy. The person (I believe he was the owner) was very kind and friendly. We had a amazing comfortable evening and continued our journey next morning but we would definitely stayed for more. It's unique place. Very quiet and tranquil. Definitely recommend here

Lovely property but.....

Sadly, our stay was not what we expected as the reality did not match the facilities and information given on Hotels.com. Positives - Our room (Rabelais) was quiet, clean and attractive. Negatives - We had great difficulty finding the very rural property using the address given and had to ask locals for directions, twice. (The hostess admitted the address was wrong.) Check-in is from 6p.m. so this made us later still, after a long journey. Parking is not clearly marked, so we parked near Reception (the wrong place, so we were immediately told to move the car). We were unexpectedly asked to pay local taxes, when Hotels.com said "taxes and fees included" (small amount which we obviously paid, but it caused another problem). Hotels.com listed a kitchenette with cookware under "Room description" for Rabelais. The hostess told us there was no kitchen with our room and we should have known from the price. She eventually allowed us to share with the other guests a small communal kitchen area, which involved going outside and round the corner from our room, but made it clear that this was a favour and for the evening only. The "Park view" from Rabelais was not what we expected. All in all, the impression we had was that we were a nuisance, when all we expected was what Hotels.com had listed.
